Hi guys,
My car is a 98 4runner 2.7 auto with 180K. I was coming back from a long road trip when my transmission started to slip bad about a mile from my home. I was getting 3000-4000 rpms and 20mph and the oil light came on for a split second. I tried 2nd and low with the same results like the car was almost in neutral. I made it home and checked the fluids all which are fine. I did have the pink milkshake attack a few years ago and had installed a external cooler etc (thanks to you guys) but I believe I caught it in time. The transmission never gave me any indications of slipping previously, the temp is good and no bangs in the cat etc however it does vibrate at 65+mph. I drove it again today for about a mile and the transmission was perfect. What gives?
