1996 4Runner radiator thickness question

I have a 1996 4Runner Limited V6 3.4 radiator that is bleeding automatic transmission fluid. The dimensions of the original radiator are about 23" high, 25.75" long and 2" thick. So, the thickness on the after-market radiators are about 1" or less. What is with that?

I found these, but they are thinner. Not sure if these are actually for this 1996.

Don't know about the one's you listed but I have a Spectra CU1998 that fits my 2000.

Here's a listing for a Denso.

Mine is a 1996 4Runner Limited 4WD, is that what you have? I know you have a 2000. I have the 3.4 and whatever goes with it. Yuo can see it in the photo alongside of my girlfriend's head. Was your new radiator the same on all dimensions as our original? That is what I am getting at here.

I don't know if the 2000 is the same as the 96.
You can check if the part numbers are the same.
That link to the denso is for a 96.
My spectra fits fine.

Your lucky the rad and Auto Trans didn't swap fluids, usually the Transmission while running has enough pressure to keep the rad fluid out, but once you shut the rig off the pressure from the transmission shuts down and the radiator fluid pressure continues to fill your transmission with Radiator fluid. I caught mine during this process, happened to notice a drip a ATF at the bottom of my rad after my 10 min drive to work, opened her up and ATF in the rad and rad fluid in the trans, had it towed home flushed it out and good to go. If I didn't notice that lil drip I'd be out a butt load of money and time, all the rubber seals in the radiator system swelled up aswell causing a number of minor issues.
