Arrow 1996 4Runner

How can I get my 4Runner to look as high as a 1999 or 2000...
I parked beside a 99 and a 2000, they were about 2 inches higher?

Could it be related to the springs? (too old)

Keep in mind, I don't want a lift at all, don't want to sacrifice the ride (love the ride so far)

Please comment,

Thanks,
Patrick

Hmmm,I've measured my '97 side by side to my mom's '99 Limited (62k miles) and mine was about an inch higher and that's with stock shocks with 92k on them. I'm gonna compare in a couple weeks after I get my Bilstiens and OEM springs installed.

Hey Patrick,
I think an OME (Old Man Emu) lift would give you the stance you want.
It give a very solid feel to the vehicle, soaks up the bumps and seems very popular as well.

It could be the springs. What size tire are you running? If you've got the stock 225s, and you compared against a 99 with 265, that could be a lot of it. If you want still other options, look into a body lift. It will lift your truck without affecting drivelines, ride quality, etc..

If he loves the ride as is, OME is not not a good choice. OME springs are significantly stiffer (hence the lift), so the ride will be noticably changed.

I wanted a bit stiffer springs but with Bils already having a rep for stiffness I figured Toyota springs would be a good compromise.

Does your 4Runner have a lift?

I have a body lift, and I love it. 1" for me. Keep in mind that your 96 will run you about $175. Roger Brown is the man you want to talk to.

Not yet, I have the OME's on order now.
I have ridden in a 4runner with the OME HDs and one with PP springs and billesteins.
I decided I liked the OME setup best over stock and the PPs.
Just my preference tho.

You could also just add spacers to the current springs if you like the ride and just want to gain height.
Totally up to you.
