"10-4 Good Buddy"
Hey Ya'll
I'm working on my Christmas list and wanted to know what you guys thought of the Cobra 75 WX ST CB radio. There are two write-ups for installing these so I know at least two of you have them . I first thought I wanted a CB that would fit nicely below my Deck but I haven't been able to find one with all the features I want. I really like that this one has the scan feature, and you can monitor two channels at the same time. I need the weather channels in my obsession with snow . The fact that you can buy a second Remote box for a second vehicle is a very interesting idea.
What I want to know is if it works well. I don’t understand why Cobra would put all these great features in just a handheld. I can’t find any other CB’s with the scan that aren’t over $200 and that gaudy chrome.

With the light up one, the whole unit lights up bright neon blue! Very bling...NOT!
The 75 WX ST is great, very compact and easy to disconnect and hide if needed. Am tuned to 1.1 across all channels with my K40 antenna.

I agree about the lameness of the neon Blue, interesting though that that model has the PA capabilities.
On your's would you say the screen is more of a yellow back lite or green?

On the 75, only the display lights up and it's the standard yellow-green color.
BTW, the model number for the neon blue one is the 76 WX ST. Strange I can't find it on Cobra's site, though.

I have never been able to get mine to work right. I pick up the weather channel, and I can hear others talking sometimes, and other times I hear a crack, like someone is about to say something but I don't get anything. But everyone can hear me.
I have hooked it up to a SWR and it reads too hot. I have tried tuning the antenna, but it does nothing.

Hey Bruce.
Just happened across you avatar. Nice to see you got that other fender on. How did the install on the new front end go?? When I stopped by last Saturday you looked like you were well into it. How does it ride with all that travel?

I just drilled a whole through the empty space under the lighter and put the connector through there, makes for an easy disconnect when needed.
