So my truck over heated, started blowing white smoke. I pulled the head and this is what I see. Does that look severe or can I shoot some wd40 in there and wipe clean?

 

clean it up good with wd-40 and take another picture, you might get the head checked while you have it off . just remember its bare metal and it will rust quickly, and when is the last time you flushed your coolant?

 

The head is cracked. I got the truck a month ago. Coolant was flushed 3 weeks ago.

 

is that a missing chunck of block from the coolant passage by cyl 1?

 

bad picture quality and head gasket residue. No missing chunks or deformations. The blocks looks good.

 

so it sat awhile before you tore into it. carb or injected. have you gotten another head yet, might try engnbldr for a complete with a cam, lot of good things said on him

 

injected...sat for 3 weeks total...got a new head already
