OK all you mobile theater guys out there - does anyone make a 1/2 DIN retractable video monitor? Same deal as those DIN units with the screens that automatically extend out of the dash.

 

no. why do you want a 1/2 din?

 

I want to replace my cupholder with one and use it for a NAV system. I already have a bunch of old Alpine Digimax stuff I want to use (pre AI Net) so the double DIN radio space will be used with that and a CB. I'm probably going to get a "donor" DIN model and strip the guts to make something work. I'm going for a totally stealth install of all the gear.

 

interesting. can you take pics of the stuff you have. i'm kinda of an alpine freak, and would love to see pics of all he stuff you've got and you plan to install.

 

Here's a list of the stuff. I'll shoot some pics when I get a chance.
Alpine 1310 head, 5957S changer, (2) 3681 processors, Rockford amps (2) Pucnh 60 DSM and a 4040 DSM. Boston Tweets (nice and small), 6 1/2" Dynaudio mids (3" VC ). I haven't gotten a sub yet, but I'm going to do (1) Square kicker solobaric - 12" if possible. And then there is the NAV - have yet to figure that one out

 

Here are pics of the gear. I'm going completely stealth - except for the head. The changer is going under the driver's seat (with a little tweaking). I'm making fiberglass kickpanels for the mid and tweet. The mid bass will be going either in the lower part of the front or rear doors. The sub (only 1) is going in the drivers rear storage compartment is a sealed fiberglass enclosure formed to fit the available space. The amps and processors are going in a welded steel box cut into the floor of the cargo area. I might wait until I do my body lift so I have more room. The visible things will be wrapped in color matched vinyl, while the amp-processor rack will be fiberglassed, painted body color and under thick plexi. I plan to pu the 1310 in the top of the radio opening with a CB under it. That's about it. I'm probably not going to start on this until the beginning of 2003.
