So I'm getting a 2009 e-locker 8" 3rd member. Want to know if this 3rd member will swap to an 03 8"rear end{ doing housing mod} Basically I want to know if the carrier will work? Gonna re-gear to 4:30's f/r. Running 33's with 2.7L.

 

Im not 100% sure that this can be done...I know the new tacom/4runner rear diff's are 8 inch diffs, but for some reason I think I remember someone telling me they were a reverse rotation compared to the new diffs, which I don't know if would work with the older taco diffs. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure. Here's a couple of gear info sites you might wanna check to do a little more research.

Thanks for site links, talked to guys at all pro and they say it can be done with diff mod, lot of work but worth the bloody knuckles!
