wow i read that IRS and was about to go yell at toyota for making an expoler. ...
just goes to show how everything is turning into rich-people-drive-around-town-in-comfort-in-their-fancy-trucks even the 4runner looks like more of a luxury vehile now. but at least it has a solid axle in the back.

Maybe it's my age or something but I have no desire to "beef" up a stock 4Runner's engine so that it will haul ass and run like a raped ape. If I wanted a freakin race car I'd buy a car and soup the ˟˟˟˟ out of it. To me, an SUV is for commuting, commuting in ˟˟˟˟ty weather, off roading, camping, and getting most any place you want to get to. Not for street machine type drag racing nonsense.

I also heard that forced induction (i.e. supercharger/turbo) is good in higher attitude where the air is thinner. That is useful in any vehicle and even more so in trucks.
That's my thoughts on that.
Have fun.

actually I like the bigger engine, at the time that I bought a 4runner the horsepower didn't matter, but after comparing it to other cars/suv's/trucks, it's kind of low huh? not even 200 horsepower, i wouldn't mind having a bigger V6 but I don't want a V8 it sucks up too much gas

There's only 1 mpg difference between the 1GR (V-6) and the 2UZ (V-8) 4X4. Also, the 1GR requires Premium while the 2UZ recommends it. I still run Premium in all my vehicles for the lower abrasive sulphur content anyway. What concerns me more is handling dynamics with the extra 130 lbs. of the 2UZ out front.
