'00 4Runner Won't Start, Please Advise

Today, my 4Runner wouldn't start. I am sure the battery is good. All of the accessories work, the wipers, horn, etc... When I turn the key, I didn't hear anything (clicks and such). I actually had my wife turn the key while I listened closely under the hood and I could hear a single click every time the key was turned. The click was coming from around the starter relay/fuse box next to the battery, not from around the starter. I just replaced the starter last week, and it was working great. After about 30 trys, it finally cranked, but when I turned it off, it wouldn't crank again.

I appreciate any advice.

I know you just replaced it...but sounds like the starter again. If it just clicks, it's typically the starter.

something to always do...take off the terminals and clean them real good, and make sure theres no corrosion, and once you put them back on, tighten them real good.

Are all your fuses good?
I blew the 120A Alt fuse last week and it seemed just like a dead battery.

EDIT:
nevermind - I totally overlooked the fact that your accessories are working.

No, the starter was rebuilt, and not an oem model. I will try cleaning the battery posts. I'd hate to have to replace the starter again, it was a 2 person job.

Interestingly, about an hour ago, it started right up, so I ran some errands. After I came home, I killed it, and it cranked right back up again. I guess I could try putting the old starter back on and see if anything changes.

Not uncommon for a "rebuilt" starter to have worn out solenoid contacts. Best bet is to simply repair your old starter (and the rebuilt one too):

Good to know. I'll pick up the contacts and open up the original starter later today.
