Update on the truck

I managed to get the carburator working like it should again.I simply took off the top half of the carb where i could get to the bowl where the float and needle valve is.I think took a clean old rag and sopped up all the gas out of the bowl and while i was doing that i noticed the bowl was full of all kinds of trash like i found in my fuel filters previously(Rust Deposits From The Gas Tank)but anywho i got all the gas out and then took about i dunno 12 or so cue tips and cleaned the float, bowl, needle valve and all that good stuff then bolted it all back together (The gasket that goes in between the bottom and top part of the cab looked to still be in great shape so i just reused it).Now she idles great,Doesn't back fire through the exhaust no more & has quiet a bit of noticeable power that it didn't have before. While im on the carb subject does anyone know why when you rev it up to say 3,200 rpm (don't have a tachometer in my cluster so im guessing by the sound of the motor and exhaust) it starts squealing from the carb kind of like the sound of a dying bird trapped in the carburator?...Could it be a leaky base plate gasket?

I think that style rim comes in 2.5, 3.75 and 4". If and when you do remove your wheels, flip it upside down to where the back is facing up and measure with a tape measure the back mounting surface to where it looks even with the rim lip...Hope that makes sense

I tried the same thing on mine and couldnt hear anything. I would check your base plate and other connections. Does sound like a vacuum leak.

Have you tried any starting fluid around the connections while idling and seeing if it revs or affects the idle?

Bummer

Well i haven't gotten to post anything in awhile or updated in a bit.The only thing thats really changed is i got a nice new killer dent in the side of my bed.Sometimes i think its impossible to keep a body looking decent on a toyota truck.

P.S. Here is a good pic of the first time the truck ever seen a little mud.I done this trying to get back into my fishing hole the other day after it rained.
