Wow, I thought my frame was bad, you did a great job, that's the place where all the pickup frame rust, and it's from the inside out. Great welding. The mud does help with noise reduction.....I had to replace the rear part of my frame from tube back.

I cleaned up the frame repair post so it's easier to follow and added a few descriptions.

lol, the truck actually gets better gas mileage then the BMW does. Almost twice as good, even with the added weight of the mud on it.

I plan on making my own skid for it. I have to look into a possible way to lift the tank higher. Just enough to clear the frame rails.

Wowie........... no kidding? I never would have guessed that....... You got some Horses into that BMW? lol. I saw ANOTHER 850 the other day..... left hand drive, sounded like it was going to rumble out of it's frame! lol.... SUPER built but sleeper style. He hit 100mph before he hit the turn on my hill(about 1/4 mile, ALL UP HILL AT 20*!!!) You'd have been snapping pics if you were with me, hahaha.

The BMW gets like 10-12 MPG City and 16-18 sometimes 20 Highway. And it sees nothing less them 91 octane. @ 255,000 miles I am sure has something to do with it, but at a factory power rating of 230ish HP it still has close to that.

Yeah the truck is running about 18-20 in town and 22-25 on the highway. Not bad for a Weber carb. And yes that is accounting for the tire size non-gear change.

Nope. I'd rather turn 1 screw and use my ears, not my eyes. I'm not getting any younger and my ears work rather well. lol.
