Just saw the pics.... Wow... When I saw them I heard a scream, and realized it was me.
I thought my 4ruster frame was bad, but that there above beats it!
Glad to here you'll have her in operation for the weekend.

What surprises me the most is the amount of weight I carry in that bed on a regular basis. Just goes to show how strong these frames really are.

I bet you notice a stiffer ride now. could have been helping 'flex' a little with the gaping rust holes...ha

No, that would be silly, Toyota doesn't use spring steel for their frames...
I think you can claim the 'rusty frame flex mod'

Haha that would have been the cheapest mod on the truck then. But then again it's costing me $400 to undo that free mod. I'll send the Bill to PennDOT.

But he's not gonna get to the drivers shock mount so I think I am just gonna shim the bump stop for now to limit the up travel some. 1/2" or so isn't gonna hurt me. He's still got to finish weld some things and put the rear body mounts back on and get the bed back on.

I did finally ask about a cost as the original estimate was $400. And he's said hes got alot more time into it then originally thought but he's gonna stick to that estimate. Now that's a stand up guy. He basically said I helped you out and you help me out and I said that's no problem I've been documenting it from the start just too bad I couldn't get some more in between photos, but I do have those good start photos as well. I'll try to get down there to get some more with the bed still off. I am sure that's the last thing to go on anyway.
Wowww! Great news, Brandon, seriously.

Far as those suggesting you might have gained more flex due to one of four sides of your frame left, .... meh, maybe, but I think 85GIJUNK has ya beat on the bend! lol. Love that truck, haha.

Dang, I can't get over that deal....that's pretty much incredible in the bargain dept., yeah?

Is POR-15 spray-able or can you only brush that stuff on? I have an old siphon feed spray gun and compressor I can use. I got to protect my $400-500 investment. hahaha.

Try searching?...sorry had too!
Yes it is, but there are specifics, i cannot recall right now. You will need a nozzle that can handle thick paint, like hi-build primer, and you want to 'dust' or 'fog' it on. POR-15 likes to run.

$500 less in my pocket but both sides of the frame from the spring perches back are now boxed/plated with 1.8".

Pics will come eventually, he took several with his cell phone while doing the job. But my baby is back in my possession. I just got to tighten up the bump stop extensions.

What I should do is make a road trip to RBX's and get his arse in gear and get his tranny in. lol.

Hmmm did I just use RBX, arse and tranny in the same sentence? why yes yes I did.

Yup. generally I don't like other people wrenching on my truck, let alone someone I don't know at all. lol. But I tell ya what, it was worth the wait. I still need to put new shackle hangers on though. He kinda band-aided the one side, but did say, it's not pretty but it should hold for now.

I am no welder, but most of his weds look pretty good. Some on the bottom of the rails looks like a little left over lag, but it can't be easy practically welding upside down. And I really don't care what it looks like as long as the penetration is good.

Boy I am on a roll this morning with the suggestive talk aren't I. LMAO. Just woke up, ned more coffee.
