Just went thru your thread. I like the stance your truck has. You got it looking good. I seen on lemagacools thread where you mentioned that a solid axle rides better then an IFS. I had to part out an 84 truck as the frame was plated from one end to the other and just didnt think it would be safe to put back on the road, but one thing that did shock me was at how well it rode being a solid axle. I really thought it would be a rougher ride then an IFS. I have a 85 extra cab that I will be working on later on this winter and am hoping it rides as nice as the 84. If that is the case of solid axle over IFS, might would have to do a frame swap if I ever came across an 84 or 85 runner frame.

Jason in tn son has an 84 pickup and he says the same thing as well at how much nicer they seem to ride.

yeah when i had my 87 shortbed it wasnt too bad of a ride but it still rode like a 4wd truck, this one here rides better then my s-10 to be honest, and i think i can get it to ride better with new shocks and no blocks in the back, right now the situation is im moving to tennessee in jan. and if i cant sell it this is coming with me, thus so far ive been collecting a pile of parts, shock hoops, 2 new super swampers for it, old man emu steering stablizer, 5in trail gear rear leafs, and a bunch of other stuff, i still need to swap new leafs in, rebuild front axle, add shock hoops and shocks, and i would like to find a ubolt flip kit but cant find one used

went and looked at some 36 super swampers today, upon arrival of the house i see 3 almost new 36 super swampers sitting there, tits on them and all, little dry rot from sitting but not bad at all, i asked the price nd he immedenly said 400, i luaghed, his wife came out and they started argueing and fight, i said something along the lines, "how about 50 a tire" (i try and low ball and go from there), the wife says, 50 for all for is fine, the guy puts his head down and walks inside, score

If you sold the truck to get thru college, you did the right thing. There will be another one with our name on it at a later time. Just find you a nice stock truck and get the maintance done on it as you will need the time and money for school. Make school your priority and everything else will fall into place. Hang in there.
