Troy's 93 pickup (somewhat) build

So I picked this guy up the other day....bone stock 93 4x4 sr5. 5 speed with the 3.slow.
My plan is to do a mild build to make it fairly trail worthy, but first I need to address a few things
Already did the essentials with a new car, oil change, air filter etc....but the whole headgasket issue has me pretty paranoid. I plan on doing a big ass E fan, and the crossover delete ASAP, then the intake silencer delete. Then followed by a small lift...maybe 2.5 or 3 in, new wheels and tires, probably an ez locker or something and maaaaybe a light bar.

As far as squeezing a little bit more power (and MPG) out of the 3vze, does anyone have any other suggestions?

so I got all the stuff for the E-fan...and Im using the Volvo 2 speed fan relay with a Ford Taurus fan. Id like to wire it so the low setting can be controlled by the ignition switch, and the high setting can be used on demand, and be left on even when the truck is not. the volvo relay has 2 grounds, one for high and one for low, so i need to find a circuit that would have its ground cut, when the ignition switch is turned off.

I was thinking the ground side of the EFI relay?
any suggestions?
