Would this trip require my runner or will my tundra do lol
For the Big Bear trip? Haven't you done Big Bear before? Shorter wheel base is best. I would say take the 4Runner. Not sure how large of wheels you are running but i never recommend anybody go unless they at least have 33" tires minimum and 1 or 2 lockers.
We managed to get our friend up with no lockers and 33's oh john bull last time but he at least had a dual transfer case so all he really needed was some pushing and shoving every now and then.
Here's one of those parts he had a hard time getting him up rocks at Gate Keeper.

As for the Ghost town trip at Calico i honestly don't know the details because I've never been there. All i know is that it is going out toward barstow ca. But i may not be going to it because i don't think i'll have my first paycheck by then from the new job. I am barely starting the job tomorrow.
I'll definitely keep updated when trips do get scheduled.
For me the 35s were key. Would have been helpful to have front LSD, Rear E- Locker, and the Double Transfer Case.
My Buddy Andrew Came down from Yellowknife canada a few years ago and dropped by your shop. He got the blazeland LT kit on his way down to california to wheel with chefyota4x4 and me. He did great on his red 2nd gen with the long travel on 35's, and one locker in the rear. But yea transfer cases and an dual lockers would be nice especially with 35's. Even though its only 1 more inch of clearance from 33's that 1 inch makes one hell of a difference.
Damn. I HATE ig. I could never figure out how to use it so I stopped. lmao.
i didn't like IG either but now it's where I post most my photos because I got too many people trying to add me on FB wanting to see my builds lol I had to direct them to IG
Always love seeing your trail pics on IG, seems like you get out about every weekend.
I like the idea of the rear mounted amber light. Had one on an old truck that helped keep people from getting too close in dusty or blizzardy conditions. Saved me a few times. Gotta find a spot to mount a set on the 94..

thanks. I use to get out once or twice a month but it's been getting less and less lol. girlfriend works and she goes on all my trips so I can't just go without her
I got got the ambers aim down and off to the side so if you are behind it. It's not blinding but you can see the Amber in low visibility situations

It has been over a year and a half for me since I hit the trails. I am gonna be riding shotgun on a winch run in 2 weeks so it will be a little work for me but gonna be some fun in the Cascades with some friends I haven't seen in way too long

wow. That sucks you haven't been wheeling. Hopefully riding shotgun will give you the bug again.
