This build is basically using up many of the parts from a pile in the back yard that have collected after a decade of wheelin. The whole rig should probably be sent to the crusher! However, I have always wanted to put a basic flat bed, some type of engine conversion (TDI?), and a set of axles under her.
My history is the Dana axles/lockers and though many of you may burn me at the stake for this... it is what is laying in the pile! OX lockers, chromo shafts, gears, all without a new investment towards Toyota running gear. It is what it is....
It matters which set of 63's you use (3 leaf/4 leaf). I remember a thread on it... you may try searching google. The amount of lift would also change with how the springs are mounted being the stock leaf spring mounts/shackles have to be cut off....
So are you gonna try to get a different angle on ur shackles
I really like the look of 35"s stuffed I'm going for some Chevys in my rear want about 3 Inches from stock and don't want any vibrations I hear the 3 leaf packs are the way to go with the load leaf removed
For wheeling i have seen that configuration some... or they cut the back of the load leaf off so the front prevents axle wrap.
I already have a wheeler... this is more of a everyday flat bed build made from leftover wheeling parts. So it will have some sort of overload. The shackles may need adjusted after all said and done. Will not know until the axle/bed is installed.....
Looks like you are getting some great work done. I bought a flat bed truck just for the mileage and it was a great deal. I sold that truck but a flat bed was more handy then I ever thought possible. Welcome to Yotatech.
