My Eastern Gear Supply springless dana 60 high steer arms and Barnes 4wd 14 bolt shave diff cover showed up yesterday. Look like the tie rod is gonna clear the frame run in front of the axle but not behind. Still need to actually cut the bottom of the 14 bolt off.
I have gotten a lot of work done over the last week. Got 7/8 hiems with 3/4 misalignment spacers for the tie rod and some 1.5" .25 wall dom. I tig welded the bugs in and drilled out the high steer arms to 3/4. I also bought a pinion gaurd for the 14 bolt and front ruff stuff D60 diff cover. I got the porta ban out and shaved the 14 bolt. I end up not cutting it off all the way to the cover because it would have made for some really thin metal on the bottom and I didn't wanna weaken it enough to break through the pumkin on the trail. I ened up picking up an inch of ground clearance and made the bottom flat to help drag over stuff easier. I also got to work mounting the psc full hydro ram. Which really took some time to figure the best and fastest way. Heres a bunch of pics that will probably be out of order. Everything is disassembled right now getting painted so ill post some pic of the steering all put together.

More pictures of the cutting of the 14 bolt please I literally did the same thing last weekend with my porta band but didn't get as much as you did and I'm using the rough stuff cover as well. *edit I see now your useing a shave cover. Also I was thinking about plating the bottom as well to make a little "skid" for rocks and what not. So I would love to see what you did!

Reason: Didn't pay attention

Ya like your said it is a Barnes 4x4 shave cover. So what happened was i bolted the cover on and marked below the cover to get an idea on where I would be cutting. I took the cover back off and realized that it would have cut so much of the bottom off that the cast only would have been about 1/4" thick on the very bottom. I was concerned that I would hit a rock real hard and crack the cast. So i weld the lower bolt hole shut and cut it off right below where i welded it shut. Now i have plenty of of thickness and still made the bottom flat and smooth. As far as skid im just gonna bash the ˟˟˟˟ of the pumpkin and laugh. Haha heres a pic of it now and before the chop
Picked up my gears and lockers for the dana 60 and 14 bolt. Im gonna have a friend come over and help me set up the gears hopefully some time this week. I already stripped the 14 bolt so we can stab the 5.38s and spool in.
Been lazy with the update but, I have been workin on the truck steady. Both axles geared and locked. I order front 35 spline slugs from Eastern gear supply earlier this week. I still need to plumb steering, have driveshafts made, and bleed brakes. Bunch of out of order pictures
Nice...what's your plan, going to do a full on truggy style exo-cage?
Honestly im not sure yet. Theres 3 ways I could go. 1. I'm thinkin about maybe trying to put a bed back on and chopping it up for tire clearance and shorten it up. Then I would build an exo cage around cab and do some tube work in the bed and keep the bed side exposed.
2. Just do a "normal" toyota truggy style exo cage/flat bed in the back. (Keep the frame and leaf springs)
3. Back half the frame and 4 link. And cut the back of the cab off behind the seats and at the a pillar. (Pretty much making it a dedicated buggy) The only body panels would be front fenders and hood.
What do u think?

personally I like option # 1.... I just like the body lines on these trucks, plus you'd still have some room in the back for some gear, ice chest etc. Or it might be cool if you could combined option #1 and #2, have all the tube work of a flat bed but incorporate the truck bedsides and tailgate(you could make the bedsides removable if you were going to hit some tougher trails ). Whichever way you go I'm sure it will look and function great!

Im really thinking about going option 1 if I can find a bed (for cheap) or get mine back. The friend I gave my bed to I believe still hasn't done anything with it... haha I'm gonna try and get it back.
