Actually got quite a bit done. Not as much as I had planned but am happy with what is done. Spent alot of time cleaning and painting parts.

Got the motor in and flywheel on. Still need to get a pilot bearing and should be able to put the tranny in.

Since I got the motor in, I have another 22r motor and the condition is unknown. Saved it from the scrap yard. It turns freely and no clanks so it has some possiblities. Freed up some floor space. This turned into a clean the shop day.

Got the back half done. I will go over it with a darker gray, but that wont take long. Just got to look at Death Cougars paint code and other interiors that I might go with. Got alot of the stuff out of the truck even though it doesnt lool like it at time. This was a before pic.

Got alot more done then what it looks like. Got my 79s tranny and tcase painted again. Had to do some touch up on it from moving it around. Got some of the old blue parts moved to the shed and getting the shop looking alot better and more roomy.

Still want to try and get my 79s motor in, get my roll bar cleaned and painted, drive shafts painted, and the rest of the interior pieces at least cleaned. Cleaning the interior pieces for paint took alot more time then I expected.

Need to pull the tranny and tcase out of the shed and get some seals replaced and get them cleaned up. I have to spend some time tommorow getting my flatbed put back together as I had to take some of the dash apart to figure out how everything went back together.

Getting the head done is what is holding up the motor for now. I could of gotten it to the machine shop, but there is only one runner in the boneyard so I had to take advantage of getting all the parts that I could before they are gone.

I am not concerned about getting it running or the interior. My biggest concern is the wiring. It is mostly all replaced with good wiring, but still I will feel better when I am able to put a battery in and start testing as many circuits as possible.

Hoping to start on the bodywork in the next couple of months. Want to finish the drivetrain and interior before starting any other project on it. Besides waiting on warmer weather.

Have got alot more done then what is showing and will post pics later.

I had to pull the grill off of my flatbed to change a burnt headlight. 20-30 minutes gettting the grill out and 30 seconds getting it back in.

Also had a valve cover leak and for $13 from Orielly, I got the half moons, valve cover gasket, and the rubber grommets for the acorn nuts. Truck just turned 200k miles and with gas getting ready to go up, I needed to get some work done on it. Took while getting it back together from using it as a guide for getting the runner back together.

I took the worse dash pad I had and used some bondo to repair the cracks. I set the bondo in a warm bucket of water to thin it out and mixed to instructions and it filled the cracks fairly good. I think a little more work and it will do for now. It still looks better then it did.

Here it is cracked up.

Here it is filled with bono. I glued the back sid back down and clamped it.

Here is what it looked like repaired. Better then it was, but not perfect and will have to work for now. I will spend more time on the red one. I did paint it to the gray I will be using. The stool is my road side ditch find. Has a little ding but rolls fine. I have gotten 2 sheets of plywood, some 5 gallon buckets that I clean parts in and some tote bins that I store parts in this way. The tote in the above pic is a find.

I got some more Peel and Seel and will probably need one more roll to finish what I want to do. Got 3 1/2 rolls into it so far. Just the trunk floor area took one roll alone. It wont be long and I will have the interior put back together.

I will use the old carpet for awhile and it will be mix matched with gray interior and blue carpet until I can order from stockinteriors.com or some other outlet. Wont be much longer and it will start looking like a runner again on the inside. I am still working on more interior pieces. I was going to go with the factory gray, but will use an off the shelf color to cut down cost and more easily available. I am using Charcoal Gray. Just a reminder for myself.

If I could get more more good solid day on it, I think I could finish the interior an have it all together for the next to the last time. Last time will be with NEW carpet. Will be a while.

My wife has surgery on Monday and sounds like she will be down for awhile, so I will be doing all the cooking and cleaning and tending to her needs so depending on how things go, my build will slow down for a little bit. If I have to take off work, I maybe able to tinker on it some. She wont want me around all of the time. Kids may get a little skinny from my cooking. I like to look up different reciepes from the net and Chefyota has put some up for me to try. Just have to see how things go.

Almost to nice to cover.

Trunk area done.

My cleaned and painted interior parts is growing. Actually alot of time involved, but this will be my final color.

Thanks RMP8080...She maybe down for a couple of weeks. She cant sit still for more then 10 minutes without getting up. Probably going to be hard on her,has always been active. Will have to wait and see how things go. I usually cook 2 times a week and sometimes it doesnt turnout so well. Kids are glad when she does most of the cooking. I give it my best shot, but it doesnt always look it. But am looking forward to some of the new stuff I have been wanting to try. I am more adventurous in that area.

Got some more parts done. I didnt get a roll bar when I got my runner, but luckily the one I parted out last year had one. It was used on a chicken farm as a pick up and left out side and was rusted BAD. Unsafe to drive.

On one of my no spend weeks, I spent alot of time sanding the surface rust off of it and it was alot. Turned out really well. At the very top is still some pitting, but maybe I will get a factory pad later down the road and it will cover it. It wont really show anyways.

Got a few more interior pieces done. I am still working on the red dash pad. One spot is giving me heck.

I got these shaft from Jason (Thanks), Got them cleaned up and painted. One of these days I will start getting to put the parts on, but it will be nice when I get to. I am hoping to get the head off to the shop by the end of the week. Willl have to wait and see.

Actually starting to have a difficult time on finding parts to get ready for prepping. This is a low spending week. Will start on the tailgate soon. Still have a few to go. Just got to look ahead to future projects.

More parts to add to the Ready List.

Wifes surgery went great. She is doped up and wouldnt know the time of day. She has been out for quiet a while and the boneyard is just down the road from the hospital here. I got the seat back brackets that I need for mine. Hoping to stick the interior in soon. I will have to wait on getting the seats up holstered and even thinking of trying it myself. Will wait and see.

I got a trunk mat for her truck and while there, they have a SR5 guage for a 3.0 and if all goes well, I will get it Friday. The salvage wants $45 where on the net they generally go for $100. It will put the head off for a little while longer, but I will have it all together when I do get it running at this pace.

Shes is feeling better. She will be down for a couple of weeks. So glad to get out of the hospital, that was long. Glad I was able to get out of there every once in awhile. Dad took the kids for one night and he took them to a nice Chinese returant that we like going to. ( wish I could of went). My oldest kid is a picky eater. He will be glad to have mom up and running soon. I have done good so far. They are still alive and kicking.

I am able to things done really fairly fast. Just get after it in the morning and keep at it til finished. Told the wife I could get used to being a house husband real quick. She told me to get used to UNquick. Sense of humor helps in a marriage.

Had a job since 14 and have missed less then 30 days in all that time so will be going back to work in the next couple of days. But was able to start putting the interior back together and got the seats washed and waiting for them to dry. They are going to need reupholstered down the road but atleast it is clean and usable.

Hoping today I can get working on some other small things done. My dad retired and if I can get him over here, I would like to get the tranny and tcase in. I am afraid of torquing the flywheel bolts and tearing up the timing chain. It would be alot easier if I had the head on. Would like for him to hold the crankshaft still for me. Still have plenty that I can do otherwise.

Terry you can rent a flywheel holder from autozone, or advanced. they work really well. I have one that my father-in-law gave me. It is basicall a big "C" type adjustable wrench that you put in the teeth to hold it. Mine is long enough that I can put it against the frame either way to hold it.

Good luck.
