Hey Brian, .....not sure I have the site on me, but I know the number is under "Japanese Truck Dismantlers", ...they're on Alameda in I believe Wilmington, CA. Give them a call, 310-835-3100, they're really great guys that you've probably seen I use very often..... if they have it and you can find a way to get it, maybe I can help? Lemme know.

Hear anything from them JTD, Brian? Wasn't trying to get your hopes up, but there are really very few that I trust to get me the BEST quality stuff, which they store properly, keep a very clean yard, etc., ya know? Plus, they tell me stuff like "DUDE, don't get a 4wd gear box.... ALWAYS go 2WD, it's the same one, .... LESS WEAR almost always. Just avoid work trucks for them,....low miles is good.... HEY, we have one, 89 2WD w/68K on it.... 100$, come on down", hahaha. Most shops i deal with are either full of "NOPE" or "yeah, 4 gajillion dollars, k?" ...hahaha. Plus, that place lets me roam around in there and pull stuff if they're busy, then give me a lil more deal, hahaha. They can be pricey to strangers, I suppose.

Hope you find it either way, quick, brudda!

Congrats on the new aquisition (I'm a little late coming across your thread here) FYI there's a crashed 97 4Runner 5 speed on eBay right now in NY with a 3.4 drivetrain for $1200> here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

You could probably get it for less since it's been there for a few weeks. It's a bit high on the mileage, but truth be told.. do a timing set on it, waterpump, tune up and it will probably out do any 3.0 build with power. I would own it already if I wasnt in the milldle of building a Stage motor for my GN. It is the perfect 3.4 manual swap candidate... 97 so it can take the supercharger later.

And another option is I still have my 3.0 from before my swap the I'm looking to sell for $350. I throw in the fresh remanufactured injectors, 40k mile clutch and a full gasket set that I have for the motor as well for you. Details on the motor are here:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f107...jersey-219882/

Just a couple of ideas for you. You could swap my 3.0 in while you have your original from the 95 being built. Personally I would go 3.4, it really makes a HUGE difference with the SC and the proper fuel mods.

Anyways, good luck whatever direction you decide on, and if you go for the 3.4 swap feel free to let me know if you need a hand. I'm pretty busy as of late, but I can definetly field some questions, and perhaps lend a hand.

I'm not sure if this applies to the 3.4, but Ive been doing some research on a 7m swap for my truck, and from what I've read is that you can use either the auto or manual ecu. The trick is you got to make the ecu "think" its in neutral by way of sensors.

The harnesses and ECU's varied from year to year, i don't know what is compatible and what isn't.

I know you can "trick" the ECU but honestly i'd much rather do it right, it runs better with the manual ECU instead of the auto ECU IIRC.
