Good to hear! And I kinda like the wide angle lens look that this camera provides.

yeh, well, don't get you hopes up.

I love my new bumper, love the stance it has now that it's doesn't look like a dog dragging it's rear-end on the ground. want to put new shocks on, but that's one of those "nice-to-do" things and there's so much on my "need-to-do" list that they are going to wait.

I'm surprised,as well, that you comfortably fit in the truck. I would not have thought that could be.

I absolutely LOVE my truck. You will too.

Love your rear bumper, it looks so good! As far as the "need to do" and "want to do" lists I totally understand lol

Cooling Problem

Well with the addition of the new Toyota OEM thermostat my truck ran back at normal temp. BUT now all of a sudden when she warms up the temp needle will jump from 1/3 of the gauge to a hair over half. I have no idea why? It's full of coolant, I even took off the cap and ran her to try and get all the air out (some did come out so i re-filled the radiator) the problem still exists. I have a new radiator that I could throw in but I don't want to do that if my problem could be something simple. My 86' isn't like this, but that has a 180* thermostat in it. Should I just buy a 180* thermostat to throw in? What should I do???

temp sender/sensor? do you have a single stage or dual stage t-stat? if it was new, i wouldn't replace it. if your truck runs at normal temps, i wouldn't do anything except maybe the sender/sensor

how clean is the radiator fluid? may need a flush and such....i would.

might try running without a thermostat for a bit as a rule-in or rule-out thing.

i have the dual thermostat.

This is the thermostat I got. Part number 90916-03078

I'll have to check my manuals/FSM for the sender/sensor.

Radiator fluid looks OK, not great. I will pick up some coolant tomorrow and give her a flush.

What will running thermostat-less do? Just keep my engine temps really cool?

Do you have the part number for the dual stage thermostat?

bought it based upon this------>>>> http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...tatReplacement and on the advice of a few members. I am told the same can be accomplished by drilling a hole through the t-stat, but I'm lazy.

as far as what removing it will do? would imagine it would rule in or out the possibility of a faulty t-stat.....it will run cooler (on an AUTO this makes for poor shifting, 5 speed, no difference except maybe the economy)....also on the hit list would be the gauge itself and the sender like Ian said.

I fixed the problem! What I did was remove the jiggle valve (no kidding thats seriously what it's called) this leaves a small hole in the side of the thermostat, drove 2hrs into NJ to visit my gram and 2hrs back, engine temp was spot on!
