Ordered some POR-15 to coat the sliders, figured i'd just coat them with POR-15 then hit them with some black paint and put a strip of grip tape on the top of them in case I need to stand on them so I don't slip off.

Thought about it, but I want something smooth so I can slide over rocks and herculiner isn't exactly smooth lol. Plus i need to protect these from rust the best I can.

P.S. I see your sig says you have a NorthWest Metal Products aux. fuel tank. How exactly does that work? I assume it's gravity fed? but then how do you fill up both tanks? I've been looking at them for a while but I'm not 100% sure how it feeds the factory tank.

On my third day of reading, and finally finished your thread. So much info in here, as I mentioned in my thread, I'll probably be hitting you up for advice. Haha

I have to say this thread has been Like a good book/movie, full of suspense(waiting on you to get parts). It's like in a book/movie, when something happens with the ain't character and you're sitting there rooting them on, and that it turns around in the end. Haha. Loving it, but only feeds my addiction.

Keep up the great build! Gl with surgery too.

Yes it is gravity fed or so im told you can fill either tank. or just fill the aux tank and it feeds right in to the stock tank. the filler neck is in the rear of the passenger back tires wheel well as you can see below and its actually not all to hard to fill.

I can't believe you read the whole thing! That's awesome!!

Glad you found it informative/interesting!! I appreciate the compliments and also the good luck wishes on my surgery.

I can totally relate on the "feeding addiction" comment. Whenever I read other peoples build threads i'm like "I wanna do that!" haha I get to the point where i'm practically drooling over the keyboard lol

Like I said earlier, feel free to hit me up with advice/help, im here to help everyone no matter how silly the question.

That's so awesome! I'm going to have to find one of them... hmm... Paying for a new one is around $1000 if I recall correctly, and that is NOT in the budget right now.

Thanks for the pics and info!

Mark! Long time no talk lol. Hope you're doing well.

About the surgery, it's arthoscopic bankart repair, basically they drill 3 holes into the shoulder, put 3 screws in and sew the tendons back where they should be. Takes about 3-4months to recover and i'll be in a sling for the fist 6 weeks...

Not looking forward to it.

I had a buddy who broke his femur and right collar bone in a dirtbike accident. Watching him drive his 5spd was probably one of the funniest things I've seen. Hahah

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while, been busy, excuses, etc...

This weekend I plan on painting my sliders and getting them ready to be welded on. Also I plan on cleaning the Northwest Metal Products fuel tank and putting it up for a test-fit.

Stay tuned for pics!

Tell me about it!!!

There's nothing I love more than working on my vehicles. But lately it seems like i have absolutely no time to work on anything

It was super nice last weekend! But i was coaching at a swim meet on Friday, ALL DAY Saturday 5am-7pm and Sunday There goes that weekend and I work at my other job during the week from 7 - 4 and after that we have swim practice so it just seems like I'm running out of time!! AAHH!

Ok rant OFF!

It looks like this weekend will suffice for what I want to get done.

Also If things play out how I want them, I will be taking a trip to the junkyard to snag a roof rack for the hard top so I can mount my safari basket!

Ok im done now. lol
