Hey 84! Thanks!
I put "new" leaf springs on about 15 years ago.
Bought them from Northwest when they were still around. Loved all the stuff they had.
It rides fairly rough though. Not sure if new shocks would help or not???

Looking to replace the muffler now. It's just hanging there. Considering the Flowmaster 60. I don't want anything too loud and would like to gain a little in the horsepower and milage area.
Any thoughts?

I've been on this forum for a little while. I'm not claiming to have read every thread or be an expert but I can't remember once reading about someone putting an aftermarket muffler on and saying, "It's just as quiet as I expected." It's always been the opposite then they try to justify their wasted expense by saying, "It's not too bad," or, "It feels faster." I've tried the Flowmaster 40 and a Dynomax something-or-other and they were both louder than I want and droned horribly on the highway. Ended up putting a Walker factory type replacement in and I've been happy ever since. Not only that but it all bolts right in, no fab work required. I noticed no change in power with any of the setups I've had.

Thanks for the reply. As I looked through the many different mufflers that flowmaster has I totally agree with you that the 40 is not the way to go (for me). It states that it has an agressive sound where as the 60 states it is mild.
Im sure this is a never ending debate among auto enthusiasts but am glad to get suggestions truck specific. It helps narrow down the huge field of choices.

Very nice looking truck. I just went over to EP and read your thread over there too. Great work on those wheels, I'd love a set of those alloys for my 4Runner. Like arlindsay, I bought a Walker direct fit replacement muffler and I'm happy with it, especially the direct fit part.

Thanks Cory. And thanks for taking the time to read through my build on EP.
Maybe the Walker is something I should look at. The price is certainly right. And I would rather do the work myself rather then take the chance of someone messing something else up.

That catalog is old school! Haha
Copy that with the springs.
As far as mufflers I have a magnaflow high flow 2in cat and 2.25in muffler. A little louder than stock and the drone isn't terrible on the highway.

lol. It is isn't it. But man were they packed full of Toyota specific product. They were a great "wish book".
I stopped by the muffler shop and they carried a Max Flow brand. Couldn't find it online so decided I'd go with the Flowmaster 60. Hopefully I'll be happy with it. Anything will be an improvement over my rusted through generic muffler that a shop put on about 10 years ago. I have no idea what brand it is.

Thanks.
At 75 you don't hear it at all. In fact about the only way you do hear anything is if you have the window open and are driving in the 25 mph area and are playing with the gas. So it's pretty quiet. I didn't want anything too loud so this seems to be perfect.

Well, haven't been on for a while. Been camping and kayaking with the truck though.
I think it's time for figuring out the roof rack.
From my calculations it looks like the perfect size rack might be the Yakima Mega Warrior with the extension.
Has anyone installed one of these on a fiberglass topper? I would like to mount it directly to the topper and then use the rack as the bars to mount the kayak brackets on to carry them on top of the Megawarrior.
I emailed Yakima but the response I received was of no help what so ever. They want me to buy all the crossbars and roof mounts and then put the basket on top of that. I'd like to have the Megawarrior fairly permanently mounted and would like to keep it as low as possible. Thinking of maybe using rails from Yakima or Rhino.
Any thoughts?
