home made bj spacers, sway bar lower and diff drop

should be pretty self explanitory. enjoy!
(*all pics were taken after build when i had to replace a bj.*)

remove upper bj. try not to tear cv boot like i did.

make a template i used cardboard and paper (3/4" UHMW on left for swaybar lowering)

got some scrap 1/2" alum. not sure what grade. gonna stack two spacers for 1"

used a 2" hole saw to bore out the middle and 5/16" bit for bolts

finished product *note oblong shape of bolt holes to acc. for the angle of the bolts when installed

had to do a lil bit of trimming of a-arm to fit

installed

i used the center cutouts stacked up to lower the dif 1"

the 3/4" UHMW and a piece of 1/4 steel flat bar to lower the sway bar 1"
also added KYB shocks to all 4 corners
and overload springs
and i painted my brake drums red

i got the aluminum and UHMW free from friends as they were small scrap pieces. all that i bought was mounting hardware which probably cost me less that $20.

the only tools i used were a circular saw to cut the alum. and UHMW, a drill press and a grinder to clean up the edges and trim the upper a-arm.

you can build a spacer but are afraid of some grease?
Honestly, you put more work into the spacers than is necessary for the boot.

you going to pay to ship them down then back up, and buy the boot?
you could probably buy a new half-shaft for that.
you're making the proverbial mountain out of the mole hill

I'm impressed. I love seeing people fabbing their own parts instead of swiping the credit card.

I have one question though. On the front mount of the differential it has a different mounting position. How did you lower that? Or did you? I'm just thinking without lowing that your front driveshaft is going to be on a crappy angle, like even worse than it would have been without those rear differential spacers.
