Nice job repairing it after the rollover. I like the color! I have one of those Wagner power sprayers, thought about using it to paint my trailer project, got any tips or tricks that you figure out while painting yours?

 

Thanks! The Wagner sprayer I used is the Flexio 590 electric HVLP, I don't have any major recommendations on using it except to test spray something to get the technique down, I used my old fenders and hood that were crunched in my roll to practice. Also make sure the paint is about the consistency of whole milk, maybe slightly thicker, but any more and it won't self level.

 

Well, the engine is shot. Compression results: 1:140 2:110 3:60 4:120
Considering I had the head redone a year ago and it put me to low 140s, I believe the previous owner's "rebuild" to be the problem. Rather than pulling it and trying for a rebuild since it's a DD, I picked up a 22RE from a 1992 2wd pickup. Had 109k on it and the owner pulled it to have a shop rebuild it/prep it for a turbo since he was doing the street truck thing with it. He re-installed it without the turbo and ran it for 900mi after rebuild then pulled it to swap in a 1JZ-GTE. compression tested cold on an engine stand at 185psi across all 4. I am going to have to swap in my injectors, and potentially some other electronics to match my 1988's wiring. I will be running it naturally aspirated as well. Any tips or insight on this would be appreciated.

 

New engine installed, been working out kinks, coolant loss and oil leaks.... Trans input bearing seems to be going.... looks like time to save for a marlin W56HD... In the meantime, new grille (3rd gen 2wd pickup grille) and more lights. New lights are Aliexpress clone visionx 4.5" cannons and some stupid anzo dually clones that oreilly auto talked me into... not very impressed with the dually clones but I suppose they work well for seeing just in front of me and lighting up some stuff close to the truck when all other lights are off. Ordered 2 sets of hilux 2 bulb style corner markers, going to hope one pair is well glued (previous pair had a lens blow off on the interstate) and install some LED 194s in them.

 

Built a roof rack using a cheap amazon gutter mount ladder rack kit for vans and a Harbor Freight 500lb hitch mount cargo carrier. Fun welding project.
