Back at it. Had a little stroke for my 57th birthday. One obstacle at a time please. Much better now.
I will imagine I am not the only one who has had the wire wear in two on this little thingy under the oil filter. It didn't leave me much wire to splice with. What is that thing, and is splicing my only option?

That's the sender for your dash gauge engine oil pressure. Dlx's like mine just have an idiot light to tell us we weren't checking our oil and now it's probably effed...

You can get a used pigtail from various sources, eBay or any of the reputable yota scrap yards are usually happy to ship stuff. Not sure if you can buy a new one.

Sorry to hear about the stroke, that sucks.

I love Yota Tech. I truly appreciate you taking the time to answer. Tomorrow I intend to flip it over and pull the crank and pistons. There will be many questions in the next few months.

Am I supposed to re-use my connecting rods? They don't seem to be included with any rebuild kits.

Generally yes. The machine shop should resize the big end (for the bearings on the crank) and push in new pin bushings for the wrist pins. You can also buy a set that's been machined and it might be a better deal depending on your location.

Trouble??
So, back at it. All bearing clearances are right down the middle. I am (was) ready to start buttoning the bearing caps down. Then I read a post about thrust washers?!?! Huh? You mean I was supposed to check something about the thrust washers? Check what, and how? I have no micrometer and I see no way of using plastigage. The machinist is VERY reputable. Did he forget to tell me something? Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance.....RG

I was very careful to make sure these bolts went back in the right places. I kept my old timing cover, water pump and oil pump with the bolts where they belong.....suddenly however these bolts are not bottoming out. Am I missing a bracket or spacer. Thank You.....rg

mine had a smog pump that went there and could be the ac compressor bracket I can check when I get home

Pretty sure I over torqued my head bolts to 76 ft. lbs. What happens If I back them off to perhaps 30 lbs. or so, and then re tighten to 58? Or.....should I just leave it alone?

If they took that torque, I'd say it's best to leave them alone.

Most folks use an updated spec of 65fp anyway.

Installing a new harmonic balancer/crank pulley. Does this look right? I can't remember if this is as far in as it goes? Any help greatly appreciated.
