Rix's 1988 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Here's some of the pics from over the years.

When I got it.... stock on 31's, burned up rockers and lobes on #4 and a bad t-chain.

then went to some half bald 32x11.5 AT's
Then some budbuilts

and some rock rails

Then I removed the stock rear bumper and tow hitch, chopped off the lower half of the rear of the bed

and built this.... thing.

Then the engine almost blew on the way to reiter one day (#3 rod bearing spun)
So I had to build a new one.
engnbldr head w/oversized valves, 268c cam, Keith black pistons (lc engineering) balanced bottom end, LCE header, etc etc.

Then I put a front bumper on it, used from c-list

And a used chinese winch that later burned up. (replaced with a warn)

And I put on 33x10.5r15 BFG muds, which is how I wheeled it for a year or so.

And it was like that when this pic was taken

And its last run was the Busywild at Elbe hills

Along the way, I helped build this

and this

and this

And messed with this (it's currently back in the garage)

and started on my truck's SAS

It's currently back on it's wheels.... but far from done.

So far:

TG 6 shooter
TG rock rings (har har)
fzj80 elocker
gussets and all that
30 spline longfields
marlin ball gussets
Rear up front with a couple extra leaves
ETC ETC

Cressida is the only one of my three regular cars that is still road worthy.
I haven't messed with the tuning on my built corolla, the truck is still in need of more parts, And all my other cars are in various stated of dissassembly.
So, the cressida is all that gets driven these days.

That's a ton of progress to throw up in one day, your build is top notch though I like your choice in front thirds.

Yep he's being a bit modest about his skills as always. He also helped build this and drop it in.
