I got this truck for $1700 with a bad water pump and stripped #1 plug hole among other numerous problems. I replaced the radiator, water pump, timing belt, idler pullies etc. The truck ran like hell but still drove ok until one day at a stop the engine started to run erratically and rough. After some investigation I found that the #6 valve shim had popped out of the top of the lifter and the intake valve was stuck open. Got new heads for $220ea shipped and a gasket set for $84 and set to work. After many tools and much pain I am at the turnaround point. I found a blown gasket upon removal of the opposite head. I have reinstalled the new heads and cams and I am getting ready to replace the cam sprockets, timing belt and intake. I need to resize my pictures when I have time. Will post later.
