The cam sheared this valve shim in two and shot it out of the lifter. The lifter got stuck and precipitated the a complete top end rebuild/valve-job.

In the process of removing exhaust mounting bolts from heads. The studs come out with a star bit and PB Blaster is required to break loose most of the rusted bolts on the manifold. The studs come out easily and allow this job to be done in the truck without removing any exhaust components.

In the process of cleaning the block and removing carbon buildup on Pistons. A cheap Dremel tool with wire wheel makes quick work of this and leaves them shining factory new. Be careful not to remove too much aluminum with the wire wheel it is capable of cutting into the aluminum and damaging the Piston top.

Stuck burned valve. There was so much blow-back and carbon/fuel deposits in the intake I am surprised the engine was still running.

Just plopped on the new heads getting ready to Torque to 33flb, then 90 degrees, and then another 90 degrees. Mark the bolts with paint and do it in small steps and it's pretty easy. You need a 2' breaker bar to get that last 90 degree turn. You will also need it to remove the cam pulley bolts.
