New to me 94

Just bought a 94 that already has some mods. Three inch lift, locker in the rear, solid axle swap, and 33x12.5 Trail Diggers. Got a few little things to fix but it's a pretty sweet rig. The headlight switch is broke and the clutch needs a little adjusting. Nothin too bad. I'll update as I get things fixed.

No I didn't pay 3000 for it. He dropped his price quite a bit...

I love when I don't have to fix things. The previous owner already took care of the headlights. He ran a toggle switch and mounted it on the dash. It was hidden behind the windshield wiper lever. Now all I have to do today is adjust the clutch throw and go back out and play again.

You know Carl. I never thought to look. I asumed/hoped there was something in the pvc pipe, but didn't check. I will have to get back to you on that.

always hit and miss buying someone elses old rig. you never know what its been through why they are actually selling it. to some people its worth more sas'd but to me its worth less than stock just because it been modified and you don't really know how well the work was done. i would rather do a fresh sas than ending up having to do a full rebuild. hope you did a thorough inspection on it. good luck with the truck.

Well I don't imagine bugs getting sucked in would matter, but leaves or dirt come summer would suck. Hopefully he stuck a cone filter in it somewhere.

He did not put a filter in it. I'll rig somethin up for now. Might just get a cone filter and one of those water repellant covers for it. Is there anything I can pack in there for now that would work well enough?

I think if you hunt around, you could find something to hold a cone filter inline, inside the tube. Gotta be a way... I'll have to think on it.

If it helps the pipe is 3.5 inch outer diameter.

I just happen to make pvc pipe for a living. Is it SCH 40, or is there a print line on it stating type? I can kick around work tonight n see what the ID is,and think up what might fit.

I didn't see any printline on it. The bends had this on them.

Ok. With a 3.5" OD, it's probably 3" sch 40. So the ID is just a hair over 3". (For filter sizing)

If PVC is anything like pipe, OD never changes with the schedule. Only the ID.

Correct. So if he used 80, it's under 3" ID. 125#, it's over 3". If he's gonna stick a filter in the line, it matters.

I found a k&n universal cone filter that will clamp on to the pipe, but it would be out in the open with no protection from rain, splashing, etc. Does anyone know if those filters can be used like that?

I had to let the thing run for a half hour before I could easily get into first gear. Don't know if that is normal or if it is because it is extremely cold lately. It has been around 2 or 3 degrees with a windchill of -20 to -30. And the wind is constant. I think it's the cold but we'll see when it warms up some. Oh yeah, and I had to spend two hours runnin errands this morning and my lock was so frozen I had to climb in and out of the back window like 10 times...

Turns out that universal filter isn't going to fit. End of snorkel is too close to cab and there is a bolt holding it to the pillar that is a quarter inch from the end of the pipe. Gonna have to look around some more.

Finally got done changin the front bumper and got the winch mounted. That pvc snorkel broke and I went back to a stock intake. It runs a lot better now. Went out today and had a little fun, and did a little winchin.
