My belts are starting to whine a bit more than usual. 1992 v6 3.0 liter 4x4

Sorry for a noobie question that had probably been asked before. I have 250k miles on my truck.
Here's what's happening, when I start my truck the belts sound fairly loud when it's warming up and idling. If i rev it a few times the whining goes away but when when it goes back to idling the noisy belts start again.
When i put it in gear and start driving down the street the belts do not make much noise at all.
I'm thinking it's probably time to just get new belts and maybe do the timing chain as well.. Any expert opinions would be great, thanks in advance.

No timing chain on a 3.0, it uses a belt. Its a quite a bit bigger job than the fan belt.. Plenty of write ups all over the web about it.
If your belts are squeaking and you cant tighten them anymore, then change them. While the belts are off spin each pulley and check the bearings.
