So jumped in the Toy today and no clutch. Checked the resivore and she was out of fluid. No I get to find a leak near the transmission. Should get some pics up tonight of what I'm looking at for imput. First have to hose the transmission/bell housing down with oil eater. So I can find the leak.

Think it's the slave so I am going to order a new slave and master cylinder together from eBay for like $79 for an Aisin set. Seems like a fair price. I have heard your supposed to replace them both at the same time. I will post pics today ran out of daylight yesterday sorry

Took a lot of cleaning but here is the suspected culprit. Covered in dirt and break fluid. So I guess I will order one today, probably do the kit and do the master cylinder as well.

I update when I have parts in hand. But it's weird I had never ever had a truck break when it wasn't raining or bitter cold. It is a nice change.

Nice. My buddy has a power bleader he uses on his Audi that I will try first. Then just go with gravity if that doesn't work. Slave and master should be here on the 10or11th. $75 w/free shipping. Might give me time to paint a few body panels. . I seem to drink plenty of beer while painting

x2 on the Gravity bleed. Especially if you are a one man show and have no one to help.

Ok put my parts in today. It was my master that was leaking so I had some paint damage under the hood. And I am sure in the passenger compartment. There was signs of break fluid staining in my carpet behind the clutch pedal. I was able to fix the engine compartment damage.

Fresh paint

And dried paint. I love rustolium paint.

Lets pull this dirty thing off

Put the new one on

Same with the master

Bleed them and get it done. I just need to figure out the proper way to spin the adjusting shaft in the linkage. Do I tighten it to get more free play or loosen it? Either way I feel like I have more clutch now than when I bought the truck.

Got my. 83 afm installed after I passed smog. Had to do some adapting not cmpletely plug and play. But all the electronics are. I still have to figure out what to do with my vent hose from the charcoal canister that plugged into the air box. Plugged it for now. Is that ok?

Just inside of the cone filter you can see the plugged charcoal canister vent. Should I poke a vent hole in it leave it alone.? Replies and suggestions and much appreciated.

I know I still have to properly mount my new afm. But I was just too excited to get it installed to worry about formalities like that. .

So after gorilla timing my truck with the 83 afm I seem to now have a problem with not spinning the tires in first. I guess I need a locker now
Also I know I don't have timing numbers but I advanced it a lot, and bumped my octane from 87 to 89 no pinging and no hesitation. Hills that were barely third gear are now third all day long with an extra 250 lbs in it. Awesome

Looks like it time to redo the head gasket. I will be using a oem gasket this time. Had a bad feeling when I did the last one but seemed good to go. Just started loosing water today with some extra white in the exhaust. At least everything should be easy to remove and no bolts should be seized. I hope.
I was hoping to have the time and money to get my head ported before I had to do it again. But oh well. More practice with this motor. Haha

Ok so got my head cleaned tested and resurfaced it ready to go back on. I will have time to start reassembling it tomorrow night. The timing chain is only like 10k miles on it from engnbldr, I got a new oil and water pump from him also to put on it this time. Will post pics tomorrow night. Thanks for the help.

Nice looking truck, looks like my 93 single cab. I used the same paint on mine last year but never got around to the wet sanding part LOL but it still looks good.

Yea I am pretty sure the truck was a flood victim before I got her. I was originally hoping to be able to just buy a built new head for engnbldr but the money is not there right now. How long do you think I will have on that set of valves? Thanks for the help
