MuddinRI's 1994 Pickup Build-Up Thread
Hello All,
I'm new to the site and starting my first build of one of my 2 yotas!!
I'll try to update as much as possible. This build was started on 8/16/09 and is still in progress.
New Parts -
Sealed Power pistons(.20 over)
EngBldr C268 Cam
Pacesetter Header
Luks Clutch
Rebuild stock injectors
Radiator 2 row
Oil & Water pumps
The motor went to the machine shop on 8/19 and i'm waiting for a price on them building the short block, and cleaning/surfacing the head.
This truck is completely stock i'm hoping to due more then just the motor this yr but not sure how far the funds will take me.
Does anyone know anything about gasket porting intake/head/exhaust? I want to do this but not sure how far to go with it any ideas? Here are some pics of the start of the build will post more as i go.
Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated this is my 1st build any help would be great....

Battery relocate mod
Ok so this is how i did my relocation of my battery. This is a pretty easy mod if you don't mind cutting into the drivers side lower fender!!
Tools you will need-
Cut of wheel
metal hammer and dolly
18 gage piece of metal
welder
Ok so the battery fits without cutting, but it will rest on your coolant overflow(not so good) and it will be way off kilter. 1st thing i did was measure my battery and mark out my cuts. Once you got what you need cut start hammering away to make a level surface for the battery. Now your left with a gap so cut some metal and fill it in.. Keep checking to make sure your battery is somewhat level and has room between the overflow. These are things i've been doing while waiting for the machine shop with my motor..... One more thing there is a bolt on the fender that you will have to cut out of the way and weld to fender.

You just have to do a little fab work to mount it but it is doable I just did this one on my full rebuild and for now till I find a better solution this will work but I have a plan to redo this mount and it should work a lot better.

Now i've been calling everyday because he says call me tomorrow and still nothing not even hey this will cost x amount of $$.... I'm not very happy as you can see, this guy said when i called the 1st time(oh just bring, it in we're real slow) and now it's taking a week to give me a price.

He supposedly has a good rep but i know who does business like that.. I own my own company and i'd have no work if i operated like this bozo.

Ok here's an update Got my cam-radiator-electric fan-new injectors all yesterday. Engbldr sent me a complete rebuild kit yesterday 2 day mail, should have that tomorrow. Machine shop started my block and it should be ready late next week i hope. Today before the rain i sanded/wire brushed the frame-front axle housing-upper and lower control arms, etc. I painted everything 4 coats
