So the latest update, Coolant has been leaking for some time now. After fixing all the leaks I could find and replacing what feels like the majority of the cooling system everything seemed to be alright up until a couple days ago when it sprung a new leak out of the new heater control valve. I found that I have a blown head gasket on cylinder #1 and the increased pressure has been causing the leaks so today I decided to tear it down and replace the head gasket. Hopefully the leaks will fix themselves after this is.
Anyway got the head off and here's what we had:
And after cleaning the head up:
I then found that due to electrolysis I needed to replace the head
Luckily after doing a 3.4 swap a friend of mine gave me this little fella
who after about 2 hours 2 broken head bolts and a couple of really big pry bars not to mention much swearing gave me a descent head that should work.
Tomorrow I will see about getting it resurfaced and see about doing the valves. Will update as progress is made.

Update, the head off the spare engine has 2 cracks in it. Yippee!!! So I've decided to go with a new head from a friend of mine who owns a shop locally. $210 for a brand new 22re head isn't too bad plan to pick that up Friday (pay day) hopefully have my truck back by the end of the weekend.

Well, kinda at a stand still on the engine but finally finished cb install. I made a bracket out of stainless that mounts under the rear view mirror and under my rear dome light this allows me to hang any radio I please from the roof. Looks pretty good if you ask me.

Haven't posted in quite a while been busy with the holidays, working and starting college classes not to mention not a lot of money throw at the truck until after the 15th when my tires are paid off. Anyway made a little progress got my new windshield and switched from the fire stick to a 102 inch whip I had layin around in the shop. Next step I'm thinkin' will be my HID conversion, a new grill (mines seen better days) and LED dash lights.

hey man sick build, like the bumper. i got a couple friends that got HIDs their really nice and you can see so much better you cant go back to normall after you get them. and you defently gotta do the LED upgrade in the dash, its a pain taking apart the dash but well worth it.
