Hey Outsane! Yeah, my cover is PERFECT.... Just curious on those particular dome LED's he has, the panel one... Cuz the one I tried was more 'directional', not wide band light. Plus.... the lever on the dome is broken, which I could superglue in, I just haven't bothered just yet, hahaha... It's a poor design... I would have used the stronger 2nd Gen runner lights... Have 2 of them for other project possibilities(rear window wiper motor cover light install)... but they don't fit in the dome of the 1st gen,...too big of a frame.

I will see how much they want for the whole apparatus.. But mine does work just fine, it's just the 'lever', which is a 'clip in piece'.....OF CRAP! hahaha. Nothing JB Kwik weld can't fix, right? hahaha.

Also need a blower motor resistor for the AC.... wanna have that LOW setting.. All the others work.

Sorry Adam... hahaha... Just curious on all that stuff. The headlights, dome, etc.

Thanks, Mark. The headlights are Hella H4 E-Codes, with DDMTuning.com 35w Hi/Low HID's (5000k). Love 'em! The dome light is from SuperBrightLEDs.com, part # RDL-W10. It lights up the front and rear passenger area, very well. One of the best simple upgrades on my 4Runner. I don't have a spare dome light housing, since mine broke the same way yours did. Glad it did, though, because I love the replacement. As far as bumpers go, you can have pretty much any design you want built, these days. There are so many people with benders and know how, the possibilities seem endless.

THANKS, Outsane! I lost that link, so will now order

Adam, regarding the DOME mod: >>> .... AHHHHH, I didn't even see it was the whole housing you replaced... Gotcha... Lights it up well, eh? Did it bolt right in or did you have to mod that?

I was thinking about doing the same in the rear, for the "Bed Light"/Cargo area of the 4Runner... Was thinking of installing it on the window wiper motor cover back there.. but then thought.. "what about when the top is off???".... So at least a new festoon LED in the cargo area, right? I will have to do a lil research, maybe see about installing the same thing that you have there in the back, but on the Roll bar, lighting up the cargo area??? That way it works with the top off, too.

My plan was to use this light in back, but when my switch broke, I decided to put it up front. Honestly, it puts out way more light than just a replacement LED festoon. I'm glad it worked out this way. Just two self tapping screws to mount it in the stock location. I'll be adding the festoon LED to the cargo light, to see if it helps in the cargo area. I have the factory roll bar pad, so I'm not sure I could mount an auxiliary LED there.

Well, ...actually, they have these 'Strap Lights' that I've seen at PepBoys... it gave me an idea.. .Those strap lights hold a set of around 9 LED panel lights that are battery powered... But then I thought, why can't I just mount a Gun Leg Holster or something around the roll bar/pad and run wire along the top of the roll pad, stickied on, to a dome light right in the middle? Have it facing backwards around 20* from straight down-toward the tailgate a spot... That would light up the tailgate, etc., really well. Or maybe just to the SIDES of the roll bar, where there is no padding? Then, with that strap idea, I could still just turn it sideways out of the way if I had to load lots of stuff in there, etc. ?? I still will probably install one of the MANY rear cargo lights I've picked up at the Pick-your-parts, from 95 or so 4Runners with 3 settings, etc.. They don't have deep or too big of a housing and very good directional light... plus a festoon in the middle? I don't have the shell off enough to trip on it... just have to have a good quick disconnect.

Roger/4crawler did the festoon LED in the rear... seems to be happy with it... He also wired in that 'constant' switch so you don't have to have the running lights on(he's got a write up on that in his site.......... I wanna do that...TOO!) haha.

Yeah, when I do the cargo light, it will have its own independent on/off switch. None of that silly factory (multiple switch) jazz.

Yeah... WTH were they thinking?

HEY, have you ever found that "INSPECTION LIGHT" that goes in that plug on the left, under the dash? Never seen anyone with it... Just curious. I guess it's a dealership tool?

Wow, .... is it a type of "AHhh, great, now I can see under here!" light? Or actually something to do with repairs? (Not that you don't need light to do repairs, but you know what I mean, haha. ) I thought maybe it was to help when changing a tire, etc... You know, 'just to help see'.... But now I'm just curious if you know more! hehehe

Cool, ..thanks, Brian That's very unique and rare, I'd like to see it in action. Heck, even if it wasn't super effective... it's a pretty cool thing to have something that plugs into that socket! hahaha.

Adam, I was wondering if you could school me on something... I'm a lil confused on the whole LED thing, and I DO NOT want to spend days on this... Just curious......

The dome you got says it pulls quite a bit more MA's than the Panel that one might put in their own Stock Dome apparatus(like a flat panel strip of 30 lights)... The reason I'm curious on THAT, in particular, is the 10 LED one you got says "HIGH FLUX".... does that mean they're BRIGHTER/WIDER RANGE lighting than the other type? They look risen on yours and surrounded by like a glass stuff's, hahah... The LED's I mean. The panel one just looks like flat lil LED's. The one you have also has what looks like Resistors? And I don't see a 'on/off' lever... Just curious about that stuff.

I know you got the whole apparatus cuz yours has a broken lever, like mine. But don't mind JB Kwik welding my lever in and putting a panel in there.. IF it would be as bright as the one you got. Something tells me that the 10 HIGH flux bulbs you have in that thing, pulling more power than 30 LEDS...... your type of LED's might be a brighter/wider light.. Do you know about this mystery I'm pondering? hahaha.

Also... I'm thinking of hitting the yards for a dimmer switch and a couple other things. Any idea if multiple ones fit?(Different years/even different Toys?) If not, nevermind, and THANKS!

Mark, I'm not an expert on these LED's either, but I don't really worry about the draw on my electrical system, since I have a HO alternator and a Yellow Top battery. I'd think the LED dome light I have now, would still draw less than the stock dome light, anyhow. I like the light output, since it covers the entire front and rear passenger area, with even lighting. There aren't any 'hot spots', and the color is easy on the eyes too. I did lose the ability to turn the light on and off at the flick of a switch, so I just use my map lights when necessary. That's really the only drawback I can think of with this light. Not a big deal IMO.

As far as part interchange goes, I usually refer to ToyoDIY.com, to see what will and won't fit other year, and model, Toyota's. I think they even have a newish interchange feature.

Thanks, Adam

Yeah, I'm not worried about the power draw... just was curious which light panel put out more light/more wide angled light, ya know? I've been gone all day, but I will look it up and figure out which type are more of a 'large space' light and which are more 'directional'...

So, .... since you don't have a switch... it only comes on when you open the door???
