MaltDisney's '94 4runner gets a build-up thread

People like reading build ups (including me) and I've done enough lurking here that I feel obligated to start my own.

I will be including 2 build ups for the price of one. If you're thinking that I'm just doing things this way because I'm lazy.. I'd say you're very perceptive..

Edit: at the suggestion of Highlux I will re-dedicate this thread to just my 1994 4Runner here is linky to the '86 https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...k-life-274522/

Here's some background:
Truck 1:
My '94 4Runner I bought from my uncle back in 2007 just before my senior year of high school. He lives in Maryland so it only has 2 small spots of rust above the rear wheel wells and a MINT looking undercarriage. For most of the work that I have done on this car (like the lift) I had my friends help me with back in 2008 or so, so I don't remember all of the details. We put about a 2" lift in it- 4crawler ball joint spacers in the front and OME 2" lift HD coils in the back with some 2" longer than stock Procomp shocks all around. It has an automatic transmission(not my fav) and factory 4.88s. I used to have problems tearing cv boots even with a diff drop so I switched to warn manual locking hubs and that seems to have remedied that problem.

I bought a parts car back in January 2013 to do a manny tranny swap, but I move really slow so that is still in progress. This car still runs great with 241K miles on it but I am going to be parking it for a while because the bumper needs to be replaced and it wont pass inspection. I hope to complete the transmission swap swap this winter, but I broke my hand 3 weeks ago and that makes auto work MUCH slower. I will be building a bumper at the same time and I plan on taking a bunch of pics for everyone.
I would have more cool pics for everyone, but I had a phone memory card commit suicide on me, so I lost a bunch of good ones.

Here's one night shot of the '94 just to tease up some interest.

I will take more pics in daylight. I need to install my throttle body back on my '86 so I can drive it to work tom. I will continue with posts later this week.

Split in two builds for the appropriate section or it will more than likely be ignored. Too much going on.

aww c'mon, the section does say "86-95 Trucks and 4Runners" and one of them will be pretty slow/lacking updates. Are you sure that people will think there's soo much going on that they wont subscribe? (is this from prior experience?) I appreciate the feedback

for some reason in NH your bumper cant have any rust holes or sharp edges. the rust holes were already fixed on this bumper once, but some idiot backed into a rock.. guaranteeing that she wouldn't pass next time w/o a new bumper.

And yes I realize that my tailgate is not green. I after I replaced the old one that had cancer I decided I like the silver/green combo. coincidentally leaving it as-is is cheaper than painting it.. Bonus

Heres a look at how clean the frame is. The whole frame looks this clean, but I couldnt really get a better shot that showed it in the fading light.

Thats the dumbest reason ever to not pass a car.

Dont you got somebody you know that can squeak it through?

Amazing frame for a NH truck.

I kno right!?

I did know a guy who would have passed pretty much any car in any condition, but unfortunately he got canned this summer just before I was planning on getting his stamp of approval

The 2 reasons my frame looks so good is that it lived in maryland until '07 and I've always gotten it oil-undercoated which is a must-do if you want your car to remain cancer-free.
