I would rather have a 85 4Runner yes. but theres none on craigslist. I'd really like a 5 speed 3rd gen too. but like i said, I'd settle for a rig like this.

I know those Xtra Cabs are sick.... But I just would miss my Walk through for the DD'ing and trip factor, too much! NOTHING against PU's,.....had 4 of multiple years/Toys... But MAN.... Wouldn't you miss having the removable top factor/crawl through factor... and such?

The crawl through factor isn't too much in a 2nd gen 4Runner. I'd love having a pick up. Since I work in construction. I could also do deliveries in it. its just what i could really use right now in my life. but like i said, i'd go for both

Have you considered a '96-newer T100 with the 3.4L?

Nice clean looking truck!... Just have several of your friends text him with some real low ball offers... then your offer/price looks that much more appealingly! Lol...

Possibly! Im checking out a White 2000 Toyota Tacoma Ext Cab 3.4 5 speed. Has every option except the TRD package. and Sunroof? ( not sure if they came on years past 97 ) so it has electric windows, locks, and mirrors, a center console, bucket seats, etc etc... Its got gray/bluish interior which is ok. i'd rather have the oak interior. but best of all? its got 77k miles. should last me many years to come.

^yeah, I think they had the sunroof option for the whole generation. it's kind of a funky system though IMO since you've gotta carry around the huge block-off plate if you want to open and close it off to light. they seem hard to find with the 5spd since so many Americans are lazy and don't truly know how to "drive". i wouldn't worry about the TRD package, I think it's only the e-locker, which can easily be swooped up and installed especially if you keep stock gearing. how much are you picking it up for?

i occasionally think of upgrading my pickup for a tacoma....but nah, i already own my truck....

the TRD package is basically the e locker and bilstein suspension. but like you said, its easy to swap the locker in and the suspension doesn't offer any form of lift anyway.

i didn't know they had bilsteins, but come to think of it my buddy's has them and it's all stock. speaking of tacoma suspension....what's up with the reverse-arc'ed leafs in back? pretty much every one i've seen has them like this. i never paid much attention 10yrs ago when they were new. also, when my buddy got his 98, we compared it to my truck which was pretty much stock at the time, and found the frame height was a good 1-3" lower on the taco - so looks like it's lifting time sooner than later!

the 95-97s have it the worst. the 98-2000s have an extra leaf, but if loaded heavily, they arc as well. 2001-04s i believe have even one more left and can handle weight a little bit better.

the taco sits 2-3" lower than the previous year trucks from the factory. my brothers truck has a 3" lift and it was sitting ride height with my stock height 4Runner.

I drove by Haye's this morning. That 2000 looks nice, but I think you should pick up either the white or maroon one on the other side with the 6" IFS "Bridge Tower" lift. Now THAT's sweet!
