yeah, it'll be pretty much a new motor. I'll definitely be focused on exterior mods for a long time lol

Holy Crapoli, man! Sorry to hear this, ....seriously!

Well, at least you know EXACTLY what to do, ya know? Someone just told me something about 'using only a certain HG and spraying it with aluminum paint' on the Veezee(he's a machinist, ....but he wasn't saying 'IT'S 3.0-BIBLICAL!' hahaha. Just something he does, I guess? lol) ..... Curious if you'd heard that. BTW, REALLLLLLLLLY sorry bout the BDay being tossed cuza this! that really stinks!

I always told myself I wouldn't repair that crappy excuse for an engine. but... it happens. it'll be good to go for another 300k
Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Thanks for cleaning up your own post.

im not looking for more power. Im alllll about reliability right now. I have a lot of camping to do this year, and wanna be tip top for it! besides, I want a rear bumper and a roof rack. so it'll be nice not having to do engine related services.

Bummer man. Good luck for speedy repair. I'm sure it'll be good to go another 150k afterward. By then you'll probably have a 3.4 or v8!

Happy b-day. Sorry you weren't able to enjoy it...but from now on there's not much to look forward to except 25 - cheaper insurance and rent a car. And then maybe 55 for senior discount. Other than that it's just another year that our Yotas get older and need more lovin'!

update:

Getting the 4Runner back either tuesday or wednesday next week. It'll have a brand new top end. ( 1,500 later ) It'll also have a brand new power steering pump. I needed new valve cover gaskets anyway, so those will be fixed as well. ( no more oil leak! )Everything will be warrantied for 3 years or 30k miles. ( not that I expect it to go wrong in that time, but its whatever. ) After I get the rig back, It goes in for smog renewal. Fun stuff.

I bet it will be nice for you too have your runner back.

I am guessing in time you will be having talks with me again about a storage draw system in your runner again. LOL
