Hell I may be going to Jasper this weekend to pick up some axles. I'll trade you the inclino thing-a-ma-bob for a set of solid axles?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So my buddy and I had a little road trip today. I think we scored very well. In total we got 4 axels, a transfer case, spare tire, gauge cluster with tach, and a bunch of other odds and ends. The front and rear that I bought are open 4.10 gears and I got the stock transfer case. I'll post better pics after I clean them up a bit this week

yeah I did not need the rear end as my truck is IFS and has the wider axle in the back, but for the money he wanted I could not leave it there. I gave $300 for the the two axles, transfer case, tire/rim, & a bunch of random parts. If nothing else I'll have a spare center chunk I can set up.

We got the new IFS center chunk in last night. I now have working 4WD again. This weekend I plan to start going through the solid front axle I bought. No timeline on the SAS yet, but I want to go through it and pick up everything I'll need. I am going to order a TG doubler set up and all the goodies. It's only money right....

So I ordered the TG dual case setup and some rock sliders while they were on clearance. I started looking at skid plates. When I look under my truck the first thing I see is that giant anchor AKA cross member. If I decided to attempt a flat belly do I need to lift the engine? This truck has a 3" body lift already. It seems like it is too much. I have been thinking of dropping it down to 2". I have been reading and searching here and on pirate for hours. My brain hurts.

Well the acquisitions keep piling up. I sold my narrow rear end and made some money off it and turned around and ordered the rebuild kit for the front axle, gusset kit, and some armor. New Motive 5.29 gears and 4cyl setups getting picked up today! I may have everything to do this in November.

OK I picked up the Motive 5.29 gears, install kits and some trail gear solid pinion spacers. Not too bad for less than $400!

Got busy on the truck this weekend. I cut the 3" body lift down to a 1.5" on the cab. I then got side tracked onto other stuff. I will get the bed cut down this week. I did not have the bolts to do it. I replaced my exhaust manifold gasket only to find the rear most stud stripped out. I will get a helicoil this week. Then we finally welded up my trail gear rock sliders. I will try and keep working on the little things while I stockpile the parts to do the SAS. Next major purchase will be dirty 30's.

OK so time out on buying toys for now as I have a head gasket that needs replacing. I was loosing coolant so I borrowed the coolant system pressure testing set up from Advanced auto parts. I found 3 leaking hoses and a weeping leak between the head and block under spark plug number one on the exhaust side. At least if I have to pull the head I can put a helicoil in to the head on cylinder number 4 on the bench instead of against the fire wall. Looks like I have a full week on my plate.

Well pulled the head off the motor this week. I will replace all the gaskets and seals in the top end. Maybe the timing chain as well. Learning as I go. Name: 411433C9-E1F8-4AFE-9100-E848D9989900-339-00000095376F46AA_zps1249c8af.jpg
