lower fan shroud missing

lower fan shroud missing

just wondering what happened or was it never there? 1987 pickup 22r would this lower fan shroud help with cooling?

A complete factory shroud will certainly help with cooling, especially at low speeds and stop and go conditions.

Bought the truck new have done all work on it what happened to it?did some base models not have it?

Agree with Millball. However you will probably never miss or need it. The full shroud creates vacuum helping pull in air to cool the system down, you still will have enough cooling ability for normal driving. It was probably never reinstalled after a repair, unless the fan is off the vehicle, you can not remove the full shroud. The bottom piece has small fasteners that attach to the upper. You can buy after market shrouds.....
