Well everything went to a halt today.
Today my dad and I were doing firewood and I thought he wasn't behind me anymore so I backed up. And right into the bumper of the white truck messing up my back quarter of my truck right under the tail lights on driver side. And doing that it creased the bed farther down. Idk if it's fixable or I have to buy a new one. So things are paused right now

Okay, I been driving my truck a lot, and 15 mpg isn't cutting it. I like the auto but rather have a five speed by far.
My dads fishing buddy has a 1993 toyota extra cab with 180k on. But here's the thing. It's a 4cyl five speed. And the guy is getting old and what not. So I'm going to talk him into trading me. I'd even throw cash on top of it if it made he want to trade. He only drives the truck to the dump and fishing. It barely used. He drives a echo all other days. He has money. And fixes everything wrong with his vehicles so I'm sure it's in better shape then most. What do you guys think? What do 4cyl extra cabs get cause my single cab gets 20mpg with 31s and I drive fast

I don't know about mpg, but you might not like it. I've driven the 3.0 for a few years. When I worked at an oil stop, I can tell if it's a 4 cylinder truck right off the bat. In my opinion, when the truck can't even pull itself when you let out the clutch, on a flat surface without giving her more gas, especially on an ext cab, or older custom king cabs, you'd probably do better with the V6. The ones I've driven were a little rough, but at the least you get that little extra power. Might save you on gas there too.

With all that said, I don't know much about the 22re, as the 3vze has treated me fairly well. All I know is, you got a lot more aftermarket support for the 22re. All in all, it has a 5 speed, I'd say go for it. Just make sure to take a good look all around at the truck, or at least test drive and see how you like it.

So I called the dude. He said he'd think about it. But my question is.
Wanting to run 33 10.50s on a 4cyl should I run 4.56 or 4.88.
I will want to move up eventually

My old truck (91 ext cab, 4 cyl 5 speed) had troubles turning the 33s I had on it. I don't know what other mods, or anything that was done to the truck, I didn't care, just kept it the way I bought it. Fuel economy was crap, and could hardly go speed limits on highways!

As I said don't know anything that was done with the truck, I was younger, and it was my first vehicle and didn't care! So whatever the previous owner did to it may have contributed to my problems I don't know. it was a really clean truck though! Unfortunately I don't have it anymore

I'm picking up my new truck tomorrow~~ 89 Ext cab, v6. And super excited. Haha
