I ended up taking the front diff mount bolts off, dropping the oil pickup tube to work the oil pan. I'll post pics later but pressure is back to normal and runs great. Only problem so far I've noticed is the engine sounds like a power steering whine. Bearings in an accessory pulley maybe?

Take the belts off one at a time and see if the noise goes away.

I would move to a campground and make your runner your own motel.5 gallon bucket and concrete with a pole attached to direct tv dish and a power converter. also take a tarp and make a awning off the side with a couple of lounge chairs or a sofa.

did you manually check your oil pressure??

havent figured out the whine yet, i had more important things to do.

here is the pan removed.

friends 08 tacoma

this looked like a good place to cross.

wrong

drove down it. this was way to full to drive down when i sucked in water last time, now that there hasnt been any rain in a few days the highest spot was about 2ft.

with my open diffs and crappy tiresi was not able to get out of this spot and i wasnt about to drive in reverse all the way back, so the tacoma yanked me out. im very satisified with how it does as is, and that i always bring a friend and a chain.

Ask Trav if hell trade me his tacoma for a working pepsi pop machine, and my kid.You seriously need some tires buddy. Take those black steelies to the tire shop and get some rubber on em and slap the ones off the blue one on the white one. Keep up the good wor hand!! Does travis still have long hair?? Kicka$$ if he does.

anyone ever convert the r12 system to r134a yet? the retrofit connector on the rear is to tall and hits the thermostat housing. after a bunch of searching i may of found the fix. the only 2 things i can think of doing are:

1. shorter retrofit piece. no where i have found one.

2. https://www.yotatech.com/51899821-post100.html -- this appears to be a fitting at a 90 that would probably work.

i am open to suggestions/fixes.

I looked at mine and it seems the only thing in the way is the lower heater hose fittng that attaches to the bottom of the lower intake. The thermostat housing doesent interfere.

took off this morning for denver at 7am. got back around 730pm. drove it a total of 700 miles round trip to pick up a complete engine and 4 wheels/tires. rode and drove great the entire way. i was averaging 23.5mpg on the way up and 21mpg on the way back in wind and loaded with id guess 400-500lbs worth of parts. my rear axle breather must of been stuck closed as the rear pinion seal was leaking fluid everywhere. i tapped the cap and it broke loose from whatever it was stuck on. i added about 1/2qt in lakewood where i got the parts and it from what i can see it hasnt leaked since. with no a/c i drive with the vent windows open, and unfortunately for a pigeon around Ulysses kansas it smashed it. i was pissed at first and laughed about it later. oh well.
