Thanks, it will be a little while before the SAS gets done, I figure since I am doing it, I should do it right so I have to get everything together first.

Nice find on the axle. Hope you have luck finding a good deal on the kit for your swap.

Well, it will most likely be pretty expensive, I am still thinking about what I want to do since I just want to get the axle ready but my brother-in-law and I have been discussing a three link with air shocks.
Nothing set in stone we are just talking about it and haven't planned anything out yet.

Well, not much is going on right now and it will be a little while before anything happens again, I am pretty broke right now but I just got a new job making pretty good money so things will start happening again soon.

I saw this FJ at the autoparts store yesterday and had to take a pic of it, it was on Irok tires that looked to be about 37's, it was pretty big. Nevermind my finger.

Well, I went up to Browns camp on Monday with my brother in law and decided to play in the rock garden on fire break 5, got caught up a little bit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kLTLH-yWIw

There is another video of me driving into and in the rock garden that has yet to be uploaded, I will post it when I get it. The noise after I drive off the rock is the mudflap against the tire.

The bumper is now off, I just took it off today at work, I also found that I tore the inner boot on my drivers side axle.

It's doing much better. Got a set of used Mickey MTZ's mounted on my rims. Pro-comp AAL in the back and a trail gear u-bolt flip kit installed. Now I just need to mount up shocks.

I know I know, running with shocks is a but I've seen old american cars that bounce around more than I am. Lol

Here it is next to the FJ.

And at work...

I am about 90% sure now that I am going to 3 link the front, I am going to start saving in a little bit after I get my new Subaru road worthy, it will take a while since I am going to try and do everything at once.

Yea may as well 4 link the rear too! But why air shocks over coils I've always wondered that. Is it just because their cheaper?

Well for now I still want to use the bed every once in a while so no 4 link in the plans for now. I am thinking of going with the air shocks because for one, yes they are way cheaper than coilovers, and also I don't think that coilovers are necessary when you are just rock crawling, in desert racing, you need coilovers to combat the heat and shock fade of the constant use of the suspension. When you are crawling along, the shocks don't get that kind of use and so they don't build up that kind of heat and suffer the same kind of shock fade. I just see coilovers as a nice but unnecessary mod for what I will be using the truck for.

Yep, that's what happens when you are stock height with 31's playing in places that the big boys wheel at with inches of ground clearance on me not to add the stock bumper with sharp angles that hang down to catch on stuff rather than the nice tube bumper that will just slide over the rocks like someone *cough ocdropzone cough* has on their truck.

Really it is my fault for not taking the bumper off sooner, it was the second time I caught the bumper on a rock and pulled it out, I should have learned the first time.

It's good to see your thread wake up. That black Runner is crazy clean. Can't wait to see more progress on your truck James.

bumper is an easier fix though than a lower quarter panel
did this on my old tacoma--kind of similar:
