i do not. but since looking it up, it doesn't look too hard. i don't need to take anything apart or drain anything (unless i do the water/oil pumps, which i'm not). if you want to, i'm willing to come over one weekend and help you out. like i said, shouldn't take too long

two quick questions: a) can you explain the no-kickback diode in your 'aux-box' and b) what are your plans for the center console?

i have a 4runner console waiting to be installed between the buckets i put into my truck (also from a 4runner, see my sig) and i wanted to set it up so that my CB set up was hidden inside the console but i'm still working out the details.
a) when you activate the solenoid, a steel rod is magnetized and pulled to the contacts by a coil of wire. when you turn it off, the spring inside the solenoid pushes the rod back through the coil of wire. however, since the rod was slightly magnetized, it produces a short burst of high voltage in the coil. without the diode, this is like sending a static shock to everything else in that circuit. the diode shorts this voltage spike, or kickback, so there is no danger to the rest of the circuit

b)i plan on hiding a bunch of stuff in the console, namely my cb. however, i have a cobra 75 wx/st. the "box" for it is smaller than a deck of cards, and all the controls are on the mic itself (display, ptt, squeltch, scan, 9/19, etc). that makes mounting it easy, as i only have to find somewhere to mount the mike, not a whole box like most cb's. and as for the switches below: compressor, locker, and lights

mounting idea for the cb:

Cool, that sounds like a plan to me. I wanted to try to get it done before the trip, but I don't think I am going to have the time or the $$...

Gotta love craigslist! I have found a ton of stuff for killer deals.

might be because the center pin isn't tight enough.

Did it break? I have one that does that but it's broken...so a wire coat hanger to the rescue. For now...

Are you going to install the front piece that goes around the shifters also. I don't recall if the trucks had just the carpet to the rubber boot or the plastic frame and decorative boot cover.

quick stop for some bolts and finding the holes with a skewer makes quick work of installation

There are two u shaped brackets you could easily make with some aluminum stock from home depot, just sayin.
That console looks like it is out of a 2nd gen runner

The brackets are more shaped like this l_____l. The front have tabs from the tunnel ram, but I would fab a bracket if you don't have them. I'll see if I can snap a shot later.

i only have the 4 holes in the bottom of the console and the front two holes that connect it to the shifter trim. are the front two where the bracket attaches?

like part #58991 in the picture below?

thats it ian, the shift trim slides into the console

This screw is what attaches to the tabs on the tunnel ram, so you could just make another bracket for the front and attach it to the tunnel ram, or let it float and see how that works
