IngSoc's 1991 Pickup Build-Up Thread
Alright so far ive done quiet a bit in the ways of getting every thing preped for this gloryious feat of human enginering. Heres the big picture. 91 single cabframe with a 92 xcab / dubble bobed bed. So far I have got the single cab off the frame and have been cleaning the crap out of it with a wire brush, wire cupwheel, and some elbow greese mixed with a little degreaser. I have got the body mounts and the 2 front bed mounts cut off cleaned up and ready to weld. Seing that the 92 is a 3.0 I had to remove my wireing harness and in the process of cleaning it up with electronic cleaner for the plugs and some mild solution of dawn for the casings. Its been alot of prep and reserch up to this point but im ready to pull full steem ahead. A few mods that i can think of off the top of my head are as follows.
List goes on into more detail and I will get into it more a little later but for now back to work =)
P.S. I got pix of the whole thing so far just cant find my cable... I also belive a little suspence never hurt any body.

Wireing harness iis in! now to get the dash installed but first a coat of black paint... So im tring to go with a color scheme inside. So far under the hood I got olive drab with a clear coat for ease of cleaning... Black block, brushed aluminum on the lettering and the water pump and pullys, so basicly black and green with a little brushed to break up the black and to add tiny bit of bling. for the interior I was thinking white cab with black carpet black dash and white sr5 cluster... only thing is now I got a coat of white on the door panels im thinking im not likeing it as much as I thought. Maybey snow/urban camo on the inside? black dash black carpet white cluster... What are yall thinking? I still need to find my cord but once I get some pix up I think my pictures will do alot better explaing then my self.

Got the day off today so I proceeded wiht hooking up the wireing harness installing the dash, uninstalling the dash, install the vents, reinstalling the dash... Kinda where im at now in all reality im pretty ready to give a testfit see how every thing sits. From the looks of it im probibly going to have to put spacers in the front 4 body mounts to make up for the incline in the frame where I got to install the rear body mount. I orderd my body bushing last week so they should be here any time now.

I know Trust ive been taking gang loads, just no cord and I havnt left the house cuss 4 day weekend from work and every hour i can has been on my truck, cant just run to walmart where I live =) But now for the good news!!!!! I got the xcab on the fame today and got the whole thing in the garage. Now its only sitting blocks right now and im not ready to star reassembling competely yet... Got to weld up my headers ( got a mean crack in it) just to get it goin before I order new headers. I figured im going to leave the cab mount where it is and taking the cab mounts off the other frame, bolt them to the cab and weld them in place. The only problims im running into is where the fuel fill is at. It seems im going to have to run it back into the bed of the truck. Beyond that the frame starts going up a little in the rear and so im going to have to put spacers in the front 4 body mounts.
Im sure itws alot of ramboling with out pix but when I upload ill make sure to make every thing seem interesting. I got a great idea for a flat bed for when I finaly get done with other projects. alright well better luck to yah guys tommorow on getting pix.

So im soposed to be cutting off some body mounts and modifying them by today to get some welding done this weekend but it looks like im going to have to wire up a 220 to the garage. I was wondering, the box is on the other side of the house and the garage is about the furthest point from it. we got a water heater thats been ran with 10-2ga romex. Question is how far from the box can we go with the 10-2 and still have enugh juice? Or does it really matter?

Hahah excuse the bitchin, whings are stressfull with my truck being down for so long and sooooo much work just to get this project going full speed. welded up the headers last night and put on the rear body mounts Lesson lerned, my homie welding next to an open gas tank (I warned him) and the obvious happend. Fortuantly he is alright, the weldors mask saved his butt and got out with some mior burns to his side burnts. Need to get a heilie coil set for my headers and a new gasket. Looks like if all goes well thoe it should be fireing by monday monday. Pix when I get home from work toady

Going for some km2s next week... going to get 2 then 2 more (cuz i stay broke) But right now im traceing down a problim thats not letting me move my truck. Im thinking either Fuel pressure regulater , o2 senser or ECM Got new TPS new AFM and it seems to be leaning out on me when I try and trottle. Idles kinda stuffy as well. Another symptom to it is all my lights dim when it happens.IDK took it to my mechanic friend and even he was pretty stumped. Guess ill be updateing here and there. Also got a buddy sending a fuel cell and im going to try and fab a bracket to work with my new in take fuelpump instad of dropping another 200 on a inline. Still got to make my rear x-member and mount my rear shocks cuss I only get like 2in of up travel. ALOJAHS!

Well Having TPS issues and been doing alot of little work on this. Got my self a 3000w Peak / 1500w continious power inveter with beefy wires/ NHRA certified kill switch Got the flat bed on , witing for the fuel cell going to remount the shocks Move the battries under the flatbed etc etc . Got the new km2`s and LOVE LOVEING them heres some eye candy

I did the "BIG 3" today and stoked! Still need to find a FPR VSV sinceI cantfind mine after tearingout the EGR crap. Next on my agenda is fixing the exaust manifold threds by heli coil and putting in studs. Also Wondering if anyone has any input of the fj-80 roters and 6cyl calipers. Pics comeing up soon.
