Head Resurfacing
#1
I was on a thread about head resurfacing, but i cant find it now. Anyway, I have an 87 22re 4runner. So here is my thinking and am curious on what to do as of right now. my question is if I get the head resurfaced being that my 22re has 360k on the clock, would i have to get the block resurfaced as well do to the mileage/use of the engine and the block mating perfectly now. No leaks or anything from the hg that i can see as of now. The reason behind the question is i have give or take a bit of 60psi on a compression gauge on every cylinder. I have not done a leakdown test yet but i have just noticed the other day while doing a valve adjustment that the head on cyl2 exhaust valve is broke off and id rather fix that asap. But as you know while i have to take the head off to replace the valve i mine as well get some work done on it as well as getting the valves done as well to see if that will fix the compression issue. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

So in that case because ive thought of that too and was just hoping it wouldnt come to that, the other option i was thinking of was at this point its been my daily driver and will still drive no problem. but im looking to find a used 22re engine to rebuild and hope that this engine will last until i can rebuild another which is really what i want to do because doing all the work for redecking the head and block i will be without a vehicle. What would be some of your insight. Still somewhat of a newbie but i know my way around and engine and tools.
