Duckie's 1986 4Runner Build-Up Thread
Well I just wanted to start a build thread. I'm hoping by december I'll have a few more things to throw on the runner. It helps my rig was bought with some "build" on it lol. For reference, pics the day I brought her home.

Current mods are in my sig. The only thing I have done personally is tuck in the hitch brake wiring, taken the stickers off the back, and removed all of the rear carpet. I have a Herculiner kit in my closet, just waiting for some time to do it. I'm also thinking I may just do all of the floorboards and not just the back. 23 year old carpet is perma dirty and ragidy.

The rear is epic fail. I need a tube bumper stat.
Ihave a tattoo of a little rubber duckie on my arm.

I'll go ahead and list what I'm planning to have by/get in december:
Sliders
IFS skid (probably a custom, no $$ for Budbuilt)
Hella 500 fogs for the ARB
Cobra 19 Ultra III CB (The cheapy!)

I guess I'll update, although not much has changed lol. I still have the herculiner in my closet, waiting for a day for me to not be lazy. I just ordered some Zuk coils, and picked up some new ubolts to replace the blocks. I also got a Uniden Pro 510xl CB w/ a 4' firestik, just needs to be wired and installed. Hopefully this all happens fairly soon and I will get some pics of everything up. Additional plans for 2010 are some Trail gear sliders/6" shackles, and a rear aussie.

Some pics of my last run, and my zuk mod in.
Chiva Falls trail: Tucson, AZ

As she sits now, looks a little low in the back (my driveway is slightly inclined, but look at the newfound bend in the springs!!)

Long time update.
New timing set on the front. Considering selling the ARB to get an Addicted front. The rear bumper is still epic fail lol. Gonna need some new shoes sooner than later. And I'm currently considering a 1" BL and throwing some 35s on. Let's see how my tax return treats me.

Got her timed last night and fixed a small oil leak that was coming from the top timing cover bolt location. Re-checked all the fluids and she will be off to emissions on Monday and then to get re-registered.

Thanks guys.
Swizz the zuk mod is great for the sag and improving the on road performance. I did lose some rear axle articulation though of off road. The pro comp is good, I've never had any personal issues with it.
Bryy, hit me up on here sometime. I work a ton, so I don't go out a whole lot. Plus I've lost a lot of interest in crawling. I've been wanting to check out some lighter trails like gun sight pass.
Tbh, I was considering selling the rig now that she is running, but now I'm going to be keeping her for at least 6-8 more months. If you know anyone who might have interest in the arb bumper let me know. I'm looking to get 600 for it.

Duckie, I actually have a 6inch eye to eye shackle on my rear and it definatly helped , Being the right way or not ,it did level it like 1.5 - 2" until hopefully summer and I can get new leaves.
oh yeah the shackle would do it
85 sr5 4runner , 33's
2" body & rear 6" shackle for level
Brush Guard ,fog lights ,
Moog greasable tie rod ends

Another year, another update I guess lol.
During the monsoon season in the Summer of last year, the runner went down again. This time an electrical gremlin. (The worst kind of course.) Batteries were getting drained, and I couldn't pin point it to some sort of parasitic battery drain or a bad alt. I went ahead and repaired a ghetto rigged fusible link, and got a recharged battery in her. As soon as I get a fresh set of 9v batteries for my multi-meter, I'm going to check to a short and the alt.
Unfortunately, I am going to be selling her as soon as I get her all patched up. I just need something more practical for DDing.
Probably another Corolla to match my wife's.
