Didnt start of drilling support spot welds, had to get new water heater. Our old one decided to die, it was 21 years old. Got new one installed for a plate of wifes homemade red velvet cookies. My best friend use to be a plumber and has installed alot of them. So him and his wife came over and me and him got it installed. Im no plumber, so I played helper. But it is installed. Did get first roll of peel and seal while at lowes. So got a small stack of new things for the truck that should keep me busy when I can work outside. It was 102 degrees today and I have no garage So have to work when I can

Nice score on the grill! FYI, it's the 87-88 style (87-89 on 4runners), not the 84-86 style... (84-86 had two vertical bars, 87-88 had one). Not that it really matters though

Bucket seats

So finally pulled the bucket seats inside to start on them. They are out of my sisters old eclipes.

Steam cleaned them up and took all the plastic pieces off so I could paint them to match the interior.

Painted them all black

One seat had a tear on the side
So stitched it up

Plan to add some Real Tree or Mossy Oak seat covers

Thanks aa1911!
Im planning on building a beefy bumper for the front after I get it all back together. Have to still get new hood, driver fender, passenger mirror and corner lights. Hope to get those with in the next few months. Starting new job with Federal Prison, so pulling retirement money from state job and paying off bills which will open up some money so might get the parts very soon.

Thanks rustED. Hoping to install buckets and lay down Peel N Seal in the next week or 2. Got the old fenders and a fuse panel off my sisters old eclipes. Fenders will be sheet metal for body work and making my control panel for switches. Got to fab the center console in also, took out the one from the eclipes. Might start on some tomorrow, Just depends.

Got the right size drill bit I needed to drill out the spot welds(5/16) Got one side off of the replacement support before my cordless drill battery died Havent got to anything else since been off. Been working on re-straining our kitchen cabinet doors, so that has been where most my time has been. Might get to work on it a little bit tomorrow when the batterys are charged. Might try to get the metal cut for the brackets for the bucket seats. Got to still get the floor liner out to clean it then lay the pee n seal. Hope to get on this soon.

Steering wheel

Had a little bit of time and some extra paint in the shed so I decided to clean up and paint the old Grant wheel I had in the truck.
Fresh coat of black
Center before I sprayed it, cleaned off all the rust

Wife had got some satin nickel paint for me to spray old cabinet hardware with and it wound up not looking like she wanted so I used the paint

Thanks. I like how it turned out. When I was taking it off I found that the colum cover has crack in it, so gonna try to fix that today after I get off. I start my new job today. If I get some free time this week Im gonna try to weld the new buckt seat brakets. After I get those welded in Im gonna pull out the floor cover and clean it and then put down the peal n seal. Gotta work on figuring out the center console too.

Just got done going thru your thread. Got the truck coming along great. I seen you fixed your backglass latch. I have found them on ebay for about $4 a piece if you ever need one again. It was from Backseat Auto Part# 76689. Those break quite easily.

Wife seen the start of your thread and wondered what caused the wreck. I told her a bear had done that. She was surprised.

I am going to replace the bench seat in my truck. Will be looking forward to how your Eclipse seats work out. I am more about comfort and will fab up brackets if need be.

Haven't got a chance to really work on the truck much. Been redoing bathroom floor and bouncing shifts. Joy of being a rookie but starting in mid september I will be on a set days off and shift for 3months and then that will change to something different for another 3 months. Did meet some guys at new job who are in a off road club(Rock Solid Off-Road). Will be getting in with them sometime in the next few months or so. Talked to one of the guys today while at work and he has me thinking of going with 37"s when I do SAS or BJ lift& 2"Body. Can get a good deal on used Humvee tires but will have to get a set of 16.5R rims. Also has me thinking of doing a V6 swap sooner then later. He is a mechanic on the side and has a 4.3L V6 sitting in his garage and said he would give me a good deal. So alot to think about. He said if I do engine swap let him know and he would be happy to help. Guess thats how all the guys who are in the club too.
