From: Bryan Tx,
Reaming tapper on the knuckle and draglink shouldn't be too hard, it's just going to be a matter of finding the reamer. I'm going to check speedway motors.

Edit: found them but they are not cheap

From: Bryan Tx,
^ very much so, I am worried about mine though. I need to find away to keep dirt and grime out of them, I don't want to have to replace the heims every year like some people are talking about. No doubt they are stong, just wondering how long they will last. If I can only get one year out of a set of heims then I will switch back to FJ 80 rod ends. For as comon as the FJ ends are, I am having hell trying to find a decent write up.

^ he saw it, said there was no reaming involved! That make it much easier, Mark I recomend going with the FJ 80 rod ends, and making some custom adjuster sleeves!

chef here is what I would do go to somewhere like autozone etc etc that has both the 4runner and FJ80 rod ends in stack, ask them to pull em for you to take a look at. Compare em and let us know. Take your camera if you like.

Gotcha, good idea, B! I will do that. These parts stores love me, I keep them working! hahaha. Jk, but you KWIMean, right? lol

What exactly am I comparing... do I need to know that the thread pitch and such is the same? I'm sure they're a lil beefier, right? But, what exactly is it that I'm looking for, that I might know why I'm doing this, etc., hahaha.

Also might be able to find them cheaper than dealer, but OEM, at dealerpartsdirect.com.

Any thoughts?

If I am not mistaken the 555 brand is toyota oem. 25 bucks a piece isn't a bad deal I don't think.

Sweet, Rob, B, ...thanks! Will do, asap, probably 2mrw morning.

I'm currently wiping the blood that's shooting from my eyes out of FURY because, well, ......the timing cover is once again leaking. It doesn't seem to be out from the holes, like last time... but it might be. I seems to be from behind the same hole from the Timing Cover Gasket. If I have to pull this head, ......I'm really gonna lose my cool! lol. But what can I do but re-do the seal, ya know? I think they only sealed one side of the timing cover gasket... which would explain why it's not sealing, even with that hole completely plugged up with Toyota OEM sealer.

Not trying to whine here, honest....but C'M'FRIGGEN'ONNNNNNNNN! I've been so thorough, yet once again, due to machinist NEGLIGENCE, ....I might have to tear my motor half down? This has, honestly, got me to the point that I'm actually really angry..... But then I quickly realize...WTH GOOD WILL THAT DO, ya know? lol.

Whatever, ....I'm thinking it's best if I just order a new cover and gasket from engnbldr and start fresh. However, I REALLY hope it's nothing to do with the o-ring, and I'd be tearing it down for nothing, in that case..... YA KNOW??? With as fresh a motor as I have, ...... would you guys pull the head, too, or just replace the cover and gasket if it doesn't tear when removing the cover?

PLEASE, I can't be down again for weeks, working on it in my spare time...but if that's the best way to go, I WILL do it that way.

Thanks, guys, ...... any input would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

if your careful putting it back on you can change the timing cover gasket without pulling the head.
