Yeah, that was a score... YOU KNOB! lol... JK... Seriously, that's a great deal... BUT, ...175$ shipped for springs I can get brand new at 4wheelparts for like 200$ on special... Walk right in and pick them up.... all new bushings, etc., etc. ?????? Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't see that as a practical deal.

BTW, Richard... I have a couple links for ya, ... just in case you're looking...........

Mark, that's a good price for someone like me that has to have them shipped at 50$ a spring. If you can walk in and buy a set of OMEs for 2 bills, I'd do that. But you will still need the bushings also. Didn't see if the used springs include them or not.

Bummer... Well, maybe another will pop up at the yards... SOME DAY! lol. S'all good.. I could even show you how to insulate and build up those panels I'm doing if you'd like.

WOW, yeah, that's right.... So it's like 300$ shipped ... not even including bushings?

Mark I would like that very much. I think i would prefer doing my panels the way you did yours. they look more durable. at least theyre more sound resistant and insulated. Plus all those extra lights you added and inside power window button in the rear. i like those ideas too. So yea ill definitely take you up on that offer in the future. Thanks for offering.

PS>

The OMEmu springs? Ok, they're at 140$ right now... They come with both pairs of bushings(front and rear eyelets).... Which is 20$ new from OME....

What I stupidly did NOT read all the way through was this, >>>>>>>

"I will only be obtaining a shipping quote for the winning bidder. I'd need to take a five mile trip repeatedly if I got a quote for everyone that's asking for one. I appreciate your understanding.

My guess for a shipping quote is between $60 and $80 via one of the cheaper USPS methods. "

So, now we're at up to 220$ shipped(and I'm guessing the bid might go up again)....

Whereas; OME Packs vary in price... but TRD4U looks like this.........

http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com...dproduct=-8690

http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com...dproduct=-9222

....... So, for the identical stuff, new... MINUS shipping, we're already at 220$ plus tax........ I believe they can flat rate ship, together, for around 60-80$... he's right. So, with tax, 250$ or so(Yeah, CA taxes ANYTHING coming in at what now, .... 13% Sales Tax? Gotta love Sacramento! )....

So 250$ + 80$ on the high end... $330.00 by the time it's over.

************************************************** ***************

Also;

Looking at the 4wheelparts.com site..... I THINK I can find the packs.. but, they only pop up(OMEmu packs) with a "JEEP" drop down icon/link... when searching. ...yes, MORE eye rolling, because grrrrrrrrrr! JEEP? lol. I guess they just CAN'T make money on our rigs, right? I know, gotta cross reference, myself, to see what comes up.... (This happens with Bilstein Shocks on their site, to many people...).........

I'm getting nothing anymore on 4wheelparts....... So, I called them.......

"No problem... We don't 'carry' them, special order only now... Only have Jeep OME kits for Jeeps now... BUT, like I said, I can order them and have them shipped to Compton, CA store... You'll pay 97$ Each, 194$ total at the cashier. Bushings are 20$. So, $216.00 +Tax."

^^^^^^ by far the best option for someone in Los Angeles County, if you don't mind driving from wherever you are. For me, it's 10 minutes drive or so. Maybe 15 min.

This REALLY has me thinking... BECAUSE... While I have the Dakota Springs, it will cost me around 150$ for 2 pairs of hangers, f&r... to fit the 2.5" Dakota Width springs. Here's an example of something similar to what I need(Toyo posted a link, I'll find it)......

https://www.4wdfactory.com/store/pro...vy-Spring-Swap .........

Problem #2 being that I have no clue what I'll get from this swap.... Sure, I'd get more flex, that goes without saying. BUT, at 1400# Capacity/rating, 56", I'm not sure I'd get less than 3" lift... which is fine... but what kind of ride? Any wrap? (don't think it would be worse than the Zuk mod).

Clearly.... I'm better off, however, grabbing my springs from 4wheelparts in compton, CA over having them shipped via this Ebay seller for MORE than what I'd pay new, at 4wheelparts.

Shipping your parts into Cali and paying state sales tax of 13%?... ahhh dude... don't you have family in AZ? I may have misunderstood but were'nt you planning a trip there for Christmas? You could have the parts shipped there and avoid [evade] that little annoyance.
That paperwork will take a year or more to resolve... sorry to burst your balloon... though it will reduce from a blizzard to the occasional flurry [of paper]...

speaking of balloons Happy Be-lated Birthday.

13% sales tax? Here I was griping about our 6% tax rate. I dont have any sugestions for your springs. Even if there was a chart showing what to expect, and I am sure there is one somewhere, good luck finding it, the only way I would know if I liked them is after there on.

Since you are close enought to them, do they have a loaner/test program on there springs? Reason I ask is they have something similar on boat props. That is the reason my boat prop is blue, if you chip the paint (means it bent as it will fall off in the bent area) you just bought it. I had to pay full price/deposit and I liked it so they just kept the depsoit.

Thanks on the Bday ...

I posted up some stuff on 4wheelparts... I think while you were posting that. I would just walk into 4wheelparts in Compton, CA, ... it's 10-15 min away... No shipping costs... 88$ each or so with a coupon if I can find it before I went. Another 20$ for the bushings.... Then I'd have to work out whether to do grease-able shackles, etc. BUT, I'm almost leaning toward the Dakota Springs now.

BTW, the Dakota Springs, I keep mistyping, as 1400#? They're 1800#. ... The 86-92 ones are 2465# or something like that lol.... I think that would lead to a bit stiff of a ride, no? 1800# sounds like a nice compromise, to make up for the 1200# rating of the factory springs on the 4Runners... Which as we all know ends with a saggy butt and our rigs having a look of, "I have a complex... ... got any Zanex? " hahaha.

Not sure on the loaner program... BUT, Budbuilt wrote me back, 2 times, (GREAT PEOPLE there, ...really nice, and told me, "we were ALL newbs at one time... DON'T APOLOGIZE! You sound as though you've done a respectable amount of research... The rest will be 'touch and go' testing. BUT, you could put dollars on it that it would give you less lift and possible wrap drama than the 63's.... I would agree with you on that"..... ) Still waiting to hear from them on my last couple questions. They told me, "You only need the one pair of hangers in the rear... The fronts are different".......... That didn't make sense to me... Basically saying I only need the pair of hangers for the rear. I would still need mounts for up front cuz they're 2.50" not 2.25" like stock, right? They said to try the Dakota Shackes before putting in new ones... I don't want backward motion on them or something... and if I get the angle right, they might just do fine, even though they're solid cast, not 2 piece, like the factory ones I have.

Anyway, I'll post more when they answer me.

Thanks guys.

Mark stop over thinking this, If you can pick up a set of OME springs for around $300 that's the route you need to go. I told you when I talked to you about the Dakota springs there was going to have to be some engineering involved. You will have to move the hangers and the shackles the chances of the dodge or toyota shackles working is nil, axle rap is going to be an issue because of the design of the pack (a big gripe I discovered in my research on the Dakota forums) an issue that could be fixed with an anti wrap spring but that's more engineering. I told you I didn't mind putting that effort into mine because mines a toy and I love trying to make things work, you can't afford to be without your truck that long. Just pick up some off the shelf proven to perform parts and have it back on the road jm2c.

Hahaaha.... I hear ya... And HONEST, never meaning to make you feel you got me started on something silly... I think they'd work fine with the right set up.. Wrap? Maybe, but no where near as much as I'd have with 63's and a block lift... (read that most wrap with 63's, at least the dramatic wrap, is due to lift block style set ups).... Which makes sense. Also, the Dakota is set up like a flip kit style, right? Plus, the Dakota wrap???? I bet it's often do to weight to power ratios... I mean, those, in some cases, have near 300HP, right? A V8 Dakota probably get's a lil more torque happy back there, right?

But, trust me, in the end? ONLY thinking out loud... and honestly just thinking.. "Hmmmm... IF the hardware is around 100$ or so from Budbuilt..... Or Allpro... Maybe it'd be worth a try... AND, if it's not just right for my rig.... maybe someone who is really more interested in 'flex' than 'a lil wrap' would want em, right?

I honestly don't mind thinking it out a lil bit.... Because I DO believe this thing could use a couple more inches of stuff and droop in the rear. I mean, that would REALLY help out an IFS rig to get into and then OUT OF situations, right?

So, tell me, ..... it's a serious issue with this leaf pack, ..... on dakota's.... the Axle Wrap issue? Think it could be due to having 2X at least the HP as us?..... and maybe a FAR less heavy bed? I seem to have far less issue with my lil bit of wrap due to the Zuk........when I have more weight in the back. OR, ...is that just silly to think it may have something to do with it? Curious what you think. I really am curious about this... and I've seen guys do the 56" TG kits all day long and never have 2 words to complain about, ya know? Maybe one of the leafs, while progressive, is just not quick enough to progress in it's capacity, etc????

I know, they're a lil work and hard to find parts at times....... I'm pretty resourceful hahaha. Just throwing it out there... Curious what you all think. If I were to ever get one that I kept,.... it'd be a 90's V8.... But MAN I love these SFA TLC's! lol.

it depends on your area. most buy old vehicles cheap to fix up. harder to find people to buy an already fixed up rig and that would depend if they like how its done up

Mark the wrap issue on the Dakota springs comes more from them being longer from the center pin forward, Trail gear for example has there's set almost in the middle of the pack and they still have wrap issues hence them adding there anti wrap spring which is basically an extra stiff spring that lays more in the front of the pack than the rear. Molar has also suffered from that even on the old cudas and challengers. There are a number of ways it could be fixed but all of them have there own draw backs.
