ccraviotto's 1987 4Runner Long Travel Build-Up Thread
i dont know if this is going to work so I`m not going to spend a lot of time on the cozmetics at this point. trying to come up with something that will bolt to diff for a mount.

I have seen this done on an aussi runner. the guy used the rear diff out of a MK3 supra. his plan was to make the angles of the CV's more reliable. He did achieve his goal and found out he could run more travel then stock as a plus.

the only way I see to clear the oil pan with the driveshaft is a 4" bracket lift, but not even sure it would clear then either. Wasn't there a thread showing a centered diff here not too long ago? If I remember right that truck had the 4" bracket lift too.

my 4 runner does have a 4 inch bracket lift but it has a 3 inch motor drop.

I get it.......and like what you are doing! A great solution to maximize travel for the Blazeland LT. Do you also use the front pinned mount connection point on the aluminum cover. Do you have a picture of that?

may shed some light on why he used a supra rear rather then the stock diff.

by the looks of that one photo where you show the clearance of the diff to oil pan, if you did not have the bracket lift and engine drop (equaling effectively a 1" bracket lift) you would not clear.
Just throwing that out there in case someone tries this on a truck that doesn't have the bracket lift.
Looks good though, I admire the creativeness.

when i built my mount i did not relize that the pinion was offset so my mount ended up being off set as well. I have had way worse drive line angels on my straight axle truck at full drop on pasiger side. so drive line should be fine.

i will be adding some gusets to this mount. Any ideas on this build would be apreciated .
